Kaleköy is a very unique and incredibly beautiful place. It can only be reached by sea. We were picked up by the owners of Mehtap pansiyon, a husband and a wife, as well as their sweet kid who took us to the hotel with their boat. The main part of the hotel is located quite uphill, and you have to climb stairs to get to the rooms, however there is an electric trolley system in place for luggage so you don't have to carry anything. The views are incredible. The sea is beautiful and you can swim at the hotel's harbour, which has sunbeds, umbrellas and canoes, all free of charge. We ate at the hotel every day for every meal and everything was fresh and delicious.| The owner Mr. Saffet answered all our questions very patiently and helped with everything, including arranging an amazing boat tour for us. His wife, Mrs. Naz was also very helpful and cooked amazing food. Mr. Sergen was so kind and attentive the whole time, provided excellent service. And Mr. Irfan kindly drove us to Kaş on our last day.| The only problem with the hotel is that the rooms and the area is in need of maintenance. There was a lot of insects and bugs in our room, because there were cracks on the floor and walls. One night ants flooded the room and the bed. So expect basic rooms with some flaws, but everything else especially the service...
Read moreTwo thousand year old tombs everywhere, swimming in shallow warm water over the sunken foundations of a civilization long past... A Byzantine castle built by religious knights. Civilization in continuity for thousands of years and the beautiful remains are literally everywhere. Mehtap is family run, and feels like it - they are gracious hosts for gracious guests. ||||It IS NOT a place to go for some sort of clichéd, global monoculture of chain hotel "luxury," as a certain reviewer taking photos of every small blemish they saw must have expected (the cringe! their emptiness will never be filled). It IS a place with all necessary comforts, excellent food, history and activity that any human who knows how to actually live life will feel boundlessly fulfilled by. ||||I have never been anywhere on Earth like this place. Mehtap certainly has the best location in the village, and I was left in want of absolutely nothing, both materially and existentially. If the TV is too limited, the Wifi too slow, it is only because you have forgotten that the...
Read moreAn absolutely wonderful place to come and relax for 4 nights. The views are simply stunning. The food we ate every evening was delicious, and the breakfasts are amongst the best I have had in Turkey. Saffet and the team were incredibly friendly and helpful. Kayaking over the sunken city was spectacular. Playing games on the balcony of our family room with killer views was really fun. The rooms are very clean and atmospheric, with everything you need - except a kettle would have made this absolutely perfect as I am a tea addict. My daughter spent hours swimming in the safe little cove and even got to see a sea turtle. If you are looking for a glossy magazine 5* hotel this is not the place for you. If you want to peacefully relax surrounded by nature and lovely people, I can’t...
