Didn't like this place at all. Rooms are quite small. Bathroom was very small with things hanging off the wall. One day the shower head fixture fell off. Luckily my friend is a bit of a handy man and improvised a tool and managed to screw it back on. They'd have probably charged us for breaking it if he hadn't. However it wasn't perfect it was a case of have a shower but do not touch the shower head. I think they use solar to heat the water because it was cold all day and only hot for an hour or so in the evening. And the pressure wasn't great. The beds were acceptable nothing special. And the balcony door kept derailing. As you'd expect the tv was all in Arabic. |The pool area was small and most of it was in the shade all day. Some of the sun loungers could do with replacing. |One of the worst things about this place is it's right next door to a sewage works. And every now and them you'd get a strong wiff of it. It was stomach churning. Wouldn't be the best place to chill if you were hungover. |Breakfast was very basic and didn't vary much from day to day. Also they're very strict on when you can eat there. A few times I seen people being told off for taking food a couple of minutes early. Why does it matter for christ sake? And at the end of Breakfast the food is taken away on time. Not a second later. They seriously need to chill out on that matter it not good. |Staff weren't very friendly. Didn't get to know any of them during our entire stay. I've never had that at any hotel we've stayed at before. Usually you're sad to say goodbye to staff when you leave but not here. |You're not allowed to bring your own food and drink into the hotel. And they watch you like a hawk. On more than one occasion I notice them looking at the bags I was bringing in. It was half expecting them to ask if they could check them. |A couple of other things. They only give you one door key on arrival and if you ask for another they say no. Ask your rep they'll get you one. The lift is is small. The ramp from the street to reception is steep. |I can see that some people have left good reviews and that's to be expected. Some people are easily pleased and some aren't. There was 12 of us in our party...
Read moreWe have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years and left good reviews. Sadly its gone downhill this year.|The breakfast is a typical turkish breakfast. But when you need a steak knife just to cut the cucumber you know you are in for a tough time. The breakfast cereal is like chewing leather buttons. The rooms are basic and have not changed over the years.( I'm not worried the beds are comfy). But only one toilet roll all week. I asked several time at reception for a new roll even taking the old tube down so no language issues. Still no replacement. I ended buy buying my own from a Small Carrafour just opposite the hotel. No collection of the rubbish from room or toilet waste bin at all. I even left the green card on door notify the rooms need doing.|| The bar is dead at night everyone is in the bar across the road (its a good bar and the food is good ) or they have gone elsewhere. The staff walk around like they have just had the Biggest bollocking of their life off the boss all frowns and no smile, except the big dude with beard who works reception at night he was the only one that was pleasant, but still no bog roll.||Next year we will be looking at booking at the Altinersan Hotel( not been to yet) which is only about 200yards up the road from this one. The Horizion hotel is no longer open as its been sold and the Good old Burak hotel is sadly gone as well |https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g1467692-d1771250-Reviews-Altinersan_Hotel-Altinkum_Didim_Turkish_Aegean_Coast.html||I have been to Turkey many many times over the years and Im prepared to let things slide because of a cultural difference or the odd language issue. |But sadly I won't be returning to this place. They are not even getting the basics...
Read moreWe stayed here for 2 weeks in August 2018 and we will certainly be returning here when we come back to Didim.
We received amazing service from the staff who work here, they were very accommodating. The air conditioning didn't work at first but they didn't hesitate to get it sorted right away - and it worked extremely well. They also had a 24 hour reception which was useful just incase of any queries or problems. Our room was cleaned while we were gone (mopped, ashtray cleaned, toilet roll restocked up, bin bags changed and our rubbish bags took away), our towels were changed every 2 days, which wasn't a problem as we brought our own towels that we used for the sun loungers. The pool area was always regularly cleaned by staff, we never seen a dirty moment as staff were on the ball. Food at the hotel is amazing, especially the breakfast (the orange juice available was the best orange juice I have ever tried in my life!) - which is useful if you're looking for an healthy option with a variety of food to choose from. The service we received and the facilities and services offered made us question why they are as low as a 2* hotel. I personally think the hotel is very underrated and needs more recognition. Very close to shops, the beach and restaurants etc - they are LITERALLY right on the door step! We were a bit reluctant as it was very cheap but turns out it was more than amazing for the price. If you're looking for somewhere to stay but you're on a budget, this hotel is perfect. Even if you're not on a budget, stay at this hotel and use the spare money to go shopping or go on excursions etc. If you are hesitant to stay - do not think about it and just book to stay! You...
