The location is close to many places - Erasta (small shopping mall) and bus station (to go via dolmus or coach to other parts of Turkey). Also only a 20 min walk to the sea front (Kordon), Paspatur (shopping/dining) or the historical Amyntas Rock Tombs. The hotel is on a main street, with food shops and family restaurants. It's quite and very clean and the smiley staff keep it that way. The main team (Savas & Emre) are very welcoming and helpful. There's a relaxing vibe - whether you are sitting on the huge sofas in reception or having the freshly made buffet breakfast. The first time I stayed (Dec 22), the breakfast was quite simple but the 2nd time (Feb 23), the choice was wider - my favourite menemen, and a delicious potato dish with dill and onion. You won't go hungry!
I stayed on the top (3rd) floor with a large sunny balcony which overlooks the residential area of Tasyaka and mountains in the distance. My large bed was very comfortable, great wi-fi, a little fridge, TV and importantly a strong hot shower.
My only suggestion to remedy - as it is a little off-putting - is that I could smell food being cooked late at night - I wasn't able to find out if there was an apartment next door or where it was coming from. The toiletries are basic for a 4* and need improving, along with additional items like cotton buds/pads.
Will be back - Tessekular...
Read moreWe stayed at Tanrise Apartments for 2 nights a few days ago. Overall, we would not recommend it. Here’s why: We booked an airport transfer along with our room, but nothing was arranged. When we called the hotel from the airport to enquire, they admitted they hadn’t organised it. We had to arrange our own taxi. Service was very average. Although the receptionist was friendly, she didn’t provide any information about Wi-Fi, breakfast hours, or local attractions. There was no complimentary drinking water in the room upon arrival. No housekeeping was done during the 3 days we stayed there. No coffee was served at breakfast—only a self-serve station with instant coffee. We specifically booked a room with a washing machine, but no washing powder was provided. We had to buy the smallest available pack (1kg) from the supermarket. I can only imagine how many tourists end up doing the same for just one load of laundry, leaving the rest behind. There were holes in the walls around the room with wires sticking out. The apartments are next to a residential block, and someone had parrots on their balcony. They were extremely loud all day, so if you’re hoping to get some rest, it’s unlikely to happen.
On the positive side, the apartments are only a 5-minute walk from Erasta Mall, and the buffet breakfast was quite good.
Otherwise, we do not recommend...
