My stay at Sunthalia Resort and Spa was incredibly disappointing. The majority of the staff were unfriendly, unsmiling, and downright rude, with the exception of two ladies at the reception and a cleaning lady who were the only bright spots during my stay. It’s clear that the hotel is heavily focused on catering to Russian guests, treating them as if they were VIPs, while the rest of us were left feeling like second-class citizens. The restaurant's lunch service was a complete letdown. Although it is advertised as being open until 14:30, arriving at 14:20 means you might as well not bother. The moment the clock strikes 14:30, all the food is whisked away within a minute, leaving you with an empty plate and a sour taste in your mouth. The bar service was equally disappointing. The bartenders were rude and seemed incapable of making a decent drink, except for the Russian guests who received beautifully garnished cocktails. Everyone else was handed something that looked and tasted subpar. To make matters worse, they couldn’t even make a proper Mojito, claiming they didn’t have any mint. Throughout my stay, I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. The hotel itself is devoid of any greenery, making it feel more like a concrete jungle than a resort. It’s also incredibly noisy, with loud techno music blasting all day long, making it impossible to hold a conversation with the person next to you. I would never return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Adding to the list of disappointments, the pool bar staff consistently ignored guest requests. For example, when ordering a pizza with ham, you might end up with whatever toppings they decide to give you, rather than what you actually asked for. Additionally, the food you order at the pool bar cannot be enjoyed at your sun lounger under an umbrella. Instead, you're forced to eat at the tables next to the bar, which are in direct sunlight and so hot that it's uncomfortable to sit at them. I’m not usually one to complain about my vacations, but my stay at this hotel was a complete disaster. I would never come back again.

Likes: - Great DJ and pool parties, lively atmosphere. - Nice beach with a shuttle every 30 minutes (though expect to stand during busy times). - Shisha bar and some shops nearby for convenience. - Lady on the beach preparing an amazing dish – something like pita bread filled with meat, potatoes, or cheese or spinach. A true highlight! - Plenty of free sunbeds on the beach, you will always find a space. Dislikes: - No service at the restaurant, bar, pool or beach – everything is self-service and long queues. - Food quality is poor, comparable to a 2–3 star hotel, very limited choice. - Do not expect 5-star amenities – no proper toiletries, you need to buy your own shampoo, conditioner, body lotion. No bathrobes. - Promo rooms are a nightmare: very small, non-ergonomic, some facing a wall or roof with zero view. - Staff attitude: some are rude and lazy. Only SPA staff were welcoming. - Feels like a 3-star hotel at best, not a true 5-star experience. - No outdoor restaurant area – everything indoors. - No privacy on balconies in standard rooms, you see all neighbors along the wall. -No premium drinks, and even fresh orange juice costs €3 extra. - No snacks or food between 5–7 PM. - Poor cleanliness: floors not cleaned properly (found broken glass for 3 days), dust and trash under the bed, ashtrays and used cups never cleaned on the balcony. - Bedding: synthetic blankets with no linen cover unless you request it. - Slides closed during advertised hours (10–12 PM and 2–4 PM), so we never got to use them. - No showtime, only DJs. - Showers on the beach very low pressure. - No teaspoons for your tea or coffee. - Air-conditioning is broken or does not work all the times at the restaurant and lobby. - You will not find make up light in the rooms. Overall: If you expect a real 5-star hotel experience, you’ll be disappointed. This place feels like a 3-star hotel with some party perks. Great for those who want music and nightlife, but not for guests looking for premium service, comfort, and cleanliness.

We stayed at Sunthalia Hotel Resort for 4 days. Upon our arrival, we were checked into a room that was not as advertised. We had booked a standard room, which the official website states should be 25 square meters and equipped with a separate armchair in addition to the double bed. However, the room we received measured only 19 square meters and lacked the armchair, which is shown in the photos on the official website. When we initially raised this issue with the manager, we were informed that the room was indeed a standard room and its size was 25 square meters, which was a complete lie. After measuring the room ourselves, we found this to be untrue. After further discussions with the staff, including our tour rep, we were assured that our room would be changed the following day. When we returned to address this matter, the manager on duty, a 50ish old thin man with short black hair(whose photo is attached) not only denied our request but also ignored us entirely. He refused to provide his name and did not respond to our inquiries. This lack of professionalism and courtesy was quite disheartening. We were compelled to spend another night in a room that did not meet our expectations, despite being promised a change. Out of our four-night stay, we only stayed one night in an appropriate room. Apart from this scamming scheme with a room size and uncontrolled rudeness of staff , we also encountered incessant noise from tractor work right below our balcony, which made it difficult to relax. The food options were limited and did not meet the quality expected of a five-star hotel. Furthermore, we experienced maintenance issues such as falling plaster from the ceiling in the shower and high humidity due to inadequate ventilation. Our experience at Sunthalia Hotel Resort was a total disaster. It’s an example of poor service and quality where guests do not have time to relax as they need to fight for their rights with impolite and unprofessional managers.

Inviting DJs and placing them on a massive stage by the beach does not make you a party hotel, dare I say.

Looking for an adult-only hotel with a pool, bars, and fun activities, my best friend (21) and I (20) chose Sunthalia. We packed expecting a fun, lively place with parties, energetic animators, good drinks (Starbucks!!!) and a great vibe. Unfortunately, the most fun we had was chilling at the lobby bar and terrace after midnight. Sharing me thoughts after a week there: No A/C at the reception. Our room for two was small. With two single beds and suitcases on the floor, there was barely space to walk. Cleaning was not it. Rubbish bin and sheets were changed, but towels might not have been. The mirror stayed dirty the whole trip, an empty bottle was under the bed on arrival, and the minibar wasn’t refilled quite a few times.

The pool area was okay. Always found an empty sunbed, and staff was helpful. Sunbeds in the water were a cool touch. The slides were surprisingly fun! The water sometimes seemed cold, even in 35°C heat. We shivered after the pool party and found the sea warmer.

Speaking of the beach - no complaints. Regular shuttle, clean sandy beach, good restaurant, palm trees, nice area. Watersports were pricey (50€ for 15 mins jet ski), but if that's okay for you, off you go.

You only get one free Starbucks drink for a 7-night stay - not unlimited like we expected. Otherwise, it’s full price. There’s also a smoothie bar, but again, you have to pay. Asking for an iced coffee at the bar will get you milk with a sad espresso shot from a bad machine. As regular coffee drinkers, that hurt.

As a picky eater, the food was alright. We slept through most breakfasts (07:00–11:00), and the one we caught didn’t feel worth waking up for. Lunch at the buffet (12:30–14:30) was okay, but we liked the poolside snack bar better - surprisingly good Italian menu (pizzas, pastas, salads). Same for the beach bar. Oddly, the pool bar didn’t have pasta Alfredo or fries, my two favourites from the menu.

Dinner was more varied with decent meat and fish options. Overall, basic all-inclusive experience. P.S. We only found out about the a la carte steak/fish restaurants after we got home. No one told us.

The smoothie/hookah bar near the theater was confusing. Paying extra for a smoothie? I could take some fruits and milk from the restaurant and make the same smoothie you're offering me for 3 euros. The hookah saved the situation. If we ignore the 20 euro price, we loved it. Smooth, flavourful, and the staff consistently took care of it.

Drinks overall were bad. Up to ugly plastic cups. And yes, we’ve experienced all-inclusive drinks before.

Animators were disappointing. Same 3–4 people daily, looking tired and unbothered. They didn’t interact with us once, and their smiles vanished the second they turned away. You should have seen them during the evening events. It was either the most unhappy, unsatisfied person, the sleepy, yawning one, or the unwillingly smiling and dancing one.

Thanks for the club invites, though! Nox night was amazing. Liman? Too crowded, we could barely find a space to stand.

Hotel activities were underwhelming. We hoped for a modern party vibe. But were slapped in the face with darts battles and rope skipping challenges.

Foam parties with DJs were fun. If only there was more stuff like this. DJ beach sets saved our evenings - dancing, making friends, chatting until midnight. Afterwards, everyone gathered at the only 24/7 lobby bar and terrace.

The residents? A mix of young adults and middle aged people. Russians, Germans, Turkish, Brits.

Bazaars nearby are worth legit. You could really find anything you need.

Obviously, the company makes the trip. We had a great time despite the issues. If you’re looking to tan, relax and do nothing, this hotel works. If you want fun and parties, you can do better.

Feel free to check out @maria.serebrova and @aljonasst in Instagram to see the highlights of our trip or ask us...

We stayed here and today is our last day at Sunthalia Hotel. Unfortunately, our experience does not match the promised 5-star standard.||First of all, a 5-star hotel should at least provide basic amenities such as bathrobes, shaving kits, and shower gel. None of these were available. Alcoholic drinks are watered down, and the bottles are already opened and diluted. Your staff confirmed it :) The minibar in the room is also not refilled – not even with water.||The service is the BIGGEST disappointment. The staff seem untrained, unprofessional, and disrespectful. It feels as if the entire reception team and even the waiters have just started working and received no proper training. The overall impression is that the staff are either waiting for the hotel to close down or are ready to quit their jobs at any moment.
