Oren Hill Apart Hotel — Hotel in Marmaris

Our 1st holiday in Turkey and we honestly went with reservations about it as many people probably do .... What can I say..... WOW..... The place is amazing. The hotel is perfect, tucked out the way of all the hustle and bustle of the town area, but only a 15-20 minutes walk or 5 mins if you hire the electric 3 wheeled bikes (100% recommended) to the town/beach. The hotel is very well run, clean and the staff cannot do enough for you, fantastic guys. The pool area is lovely, well maintained with ample sunbeds. The rooms are pretty basic, but more than adequate as you don't really spend that much time in them. They also have a 2 hour policy that if you put towels on a sunbed and leave them for more than 2 hours without using the bed, the towels will be removed. We've never been to a friendlier place for a holiday, and that includes the hotel, town and beach. The surrounding scenery at Icmeler is literally stunning..... We have already paid a deposit at the hotel to come back again in Sept this year. We will definately be regular visitors here. The saying there is "you come as friends but leave as family".... On arrival seemed like a nice place, staff were friendly and very helpful, food was nice and good choice available, we didn't eat in much as we like to eat out , Rooms were cleaned daily and to a good standard, Plenty of sunbeds available Downsides to hotel ; No entertainment in September Remote location (although regular dolmush) service to ichmeler and marmaris. ( but we knew this prior to booking) Constant dog barking from house next door from 6am till around 9am, spoke to staff about it , but they didn't seem to bothered about it, if you want a peaceful stay this is not for you....be warned!!! Hot water was luke warm in morning but ok in evening , shower cubicle is tiny - but useable Also 10 lira for toilet rolls - it's not the price, but thought it was a cheek charging for them.... Night watchman cleaning communal areas and garden in front of our patio with big hose at 5.15 am which woke us up a few times,

Overall not a bad place to stay , but the constant dog barking has put us off...

After reading some reviews I was a bit nervous. But from the minute we arrived we knew we had made a great choice. All the staff were so pleasant, making conversation and always a hello or goodbye. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and they tucked my little girls soft toy in a bed every day. We walked to the main street in icmeler a few times then we realised the dolmus stops just around the corner from the apartments... so handy! Although it is only a 10/15 min walk anyway. The pool is large enough and the kids pool is ideal for my 4 year old. The hotel is quiet but definitely not empty. It just seems so peaceful even with everyone out lounging and enjoying the pool. The food was beautiful. Even my fussy 12 year old enjoyed it. Frozen cocktails were essential in the heat.
