We visited your hotel for a family vacation last week. I would like to share our feedback by examining our experience from several perspectives.||1. Dining & Nutrition The hotel had a buffet restaurant and a poolside restaurant|The poolside restaurant located near the coffee shop and bar only served set meals at lunch. The buffet restaurant had a specific theme almost every day, especially for dinner, and guests could choose from a wide variety of available foods. There was also a section for fruits and salads, as well as a dessert section. Overall, the buffet performed admirably.|Furthermore, the hotel has an à la carte restaurant. Although we stayed for 6 nights, the hotel's policy grants a complimentary meal at the à la carte restaurant for stays longer than seven nights. This privilege was extended to us as well, and we dined one night at the Italian restaurant. We found the food to be excellent; we ordered steak and salmon, and the restaurant also provided us with dessert and appetizers.||Additionally, the hotel had numerous bars located in the lobby, Sunset Bar and by the pools. It seemed that guests could order drinks virtually anywhere they wished. There were also kiosks for ice cream and waffles, which were very popular with children after swimming.||2. Rooms The rooms were sufficiently large and spacious. Our room had a view of both the sea and the water park, which was incredibly beautiful. Waking up to a view of the Aegean Sea from our bed was a wonderful feeling.||Regarding housekeeping: during our 7-day stay, our room was cleaned only three times. Once, they came to clean at 3:00 PM while we were resting. Generally, the rooms were cleaned in the late afternoon. Since we often rested in the room at that time, it meant our room wasn't cleaned promptly. I suggest the hotel ask guests for their preferred cleaning time to avoid this issue.||3. Water Park & Pools The water park was open from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.A significant strength was that I never had to wait in long queues for the slides during our entire stay. However, the many stairs were somewhat tiring, and I noticed that some older guests could not use the slides. I don't know if it's feasible, but installing a lift would greatly help guests access them more easily.|Overall, the pools were incredibly and surprisingly clean, which is a credit to the hotel's staff. I personally saw the team meticulously cleaning the pools after 7:00 PM. We also never had to wait for a sunbed; they were always available whenever we went to the pool.|4. Animation Team The animation team put in a lot of effort.Every night, from around 8:45 PM to 9:15 PM, there was a children's disco with dancing, which I believe was very enjoyable for the kids. The main show ran from approximately 9:30 PM to 10:30 PM. I particularly enjoyed three of these nights: the Colombian show, the African show, and a fantastic show held on Friday night.|However, I had heard about a beach fire show and foam parties, but I did not see any of these during our stay. On our last night, a Garden Party was organized, which I found to be very entertaining.|5. Cleanliness In general, one of the hotel's best aspects was its exceptional cleanliness throughout all areas. A very strong team was clearly dedicated to maintaining this high standard. There was a dedicated towel room where we could exchange used towels for clean ones, which was a very good system as it eliminated the need to bring our own.|6. Mosquitoes One issue during our stay(though not directly the hotel's fault) was the presence of mosquitoes. I did see a fumigation truck spraying insecticides one afternoon to eliminate insects. Nevertheless, mosquito bites were common, and I noticed many guests complaining about it. Having read comments on TripAdvisor beforehand, I had brought my own insect repellent.|7. Shopping One day,we went to Izmir and shopped at a mall called Optimum, which housed many brands. It was a good shopping center, but requires a full day for those who love shopping.|On our last evening, we also visited Kuşadası. The dolmuş (shared taxis) took us there for 90 Lira. We visited the large market by the pier and saw the cruise ships, which was very enjoyable and interesting. While there were other shopping centers good for buying gifts, they weren't particularly noteworthy for major purchases.|8. Staff Behavior The behavior of the staff throughout our stay was consistently helpful and respectful. In the restaurant, the staff did everything they could to assist us. If drinks weren't available at the table, they would come to us to take our order.|One individual whose presence was immensely helpful was Mr. Yaşhar from Public Relations. He was a very welcoming and kind person. For my daughter's birthday, he arranged a gift that made her very happy. He also coordinated with the animation team to hold a small birthday celebration for her, which was a wonderful surprise and made her feel very special. Furthermore, he made the reservation for the à la carte restaurant for us, even though we were unaware of the possibility. For all this, we thank him very much.|In general, the behavior of all staff was characterized by friendliness, kindness, and a willingness to help.|Thank you for a...
Read moreI stayed here for 10 days with my family a week ago and we had a great time! The staff are very friendly and kind, and not just to certain ethnicities like I have seen in other hotels, they are very inclusive and fun. The rooms are very good and spacious ( coming from a room on the corner so probably a bit bigger than usual ) but one thing I would say that compared to the room itself, the bathroom is rather small and it is a very tight squeeze to get more than one person in at a time, considering the rooms are large I thought the bathrooms could be bigger but absolutely no problem with the sanity of it at all 👍🏼. Speaking of sanity, nearly every bit of the hotel is spotless, very clean and all plates, cutlery etc is taken away quickly and the room service is superb. During our stay, we had dinner at the buffet most nights and the Ala carte 2 nights. I won’t lie, the buffet was not the best food I’ve had and the food choice was kind of limited for people with allergies or other believes, but all in all, it was satisfactory. When we went to the ala carte restaurants, we first went to the Mexican, now something I think people should know is that there are no vegetarian or vegan options for main courses and not a lot for other courses ( except dessert ). We were served a starter of cheeses and nachos that were quite nice, and then for appetisers, there weren’t any vegetarian options so we were given the pasta from the other ala carte restaurants ( Italian ). We then were given a mix of vegetables from the buffet and some rice in a zucchini. We had churros and fried ice cream for dessert, it was nice. For the 2nd ala carte, we went to the Italian, we had a sort of bruchetta for starters, then spaghetti, my mum ( vegetarian) asked if there was anything else as they said he could do something special and he said ( the waiter ) he could get a vegetarian pasta made and she could have that, she said yes and he went to get one, my mum got it and there was chicken in it. Not the best service but I gave her mine instead. We got some stuff from the buffet for our main and left. The waterpark and activities are also good, they have a big play park underwater world thing for small kids to teenagers that is very fun and in my opinion, better than the slides. They have lots of slides aswell that are all very good, they have 2 slides that are seperate that only teens with a red band or adults with a blue band can go on but the other slides are just as good. For younger kids they have tiny slides and fun things to play with so everyone is included. They then have a relax pool 16+, a normal pool ( the biggest one ) and an activity pool ( where the amazing activities take place ). I also think that this is critical for the review, on our 4th night, there were terrible forest fires not a long way from our hotel that started around 5pm, we were getting ready for dinner when we heard the helicopters and looked outside. After our dinner me and my brother were on our way upstairs when we saw everyone coming down with there suitcases and we were very confused. When we got up, the staff were doing a great job to get everyone evacuated from the hotel as fast as they could because of the governments orders as it was getting dangerously close. We packed our stuff up and evacuated to the beach, the staff were incredible and made sure everyone had everyhting they needed and were even handing out blankets as we had to stay there on the beach for a few hours ( at this time it was about 1 am) in between the big hills of greenery, and our hotel was a road that the fire was about 2 metres away from in certain areas so it was very close. But the staff were amazing at keeping us updated and making sure everyone was safe. Overall, great place to go, especially with kids. Really...
Read moreI recently stayed at Palm Wings Ephesus Resort in Turkey, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. There were several aspects of my stay that left much to be desired.
First and foremost, a significant issue I encountered was the language barrier with the staff. Most of them either didn't speak English or simply responded with a generic "yes" to everything, which made communication difficult and frustrating. It's disappointing when a hotel catering to international guests lacks proficient English-speaking staff.
Another disappointment was the repetitive and monotonous food options throughout my stay. After a while, the lack of variety became tiresome, and it was challenging to find new and exciting options. The culinary experience fell short of my expectations, leaving me longing for more diverse and flavorful meals.
The service at Palm Wings Ephesus Resort was mediocre at best. While some staff members were helpful, there were instances where I encountered issues that were not adequately resolved. For example, despite booking a family room with two separate rooms, I was given a single room with bunk beds. When I brought this to the attention of the reception, instead of rectifying the situation, they asked me to pay an additional £98 for an upgrade. This was a disappointing and frustrating start to my holiday, and it certainly did not reflect the level of service one would expect from a 5-star hotel. In fact, based on my experience, I would consider it more of a 3.5-star hotel.
The animation team at the resort was lacking in engagement and creativity. Their activities were limited, with only a handful of options such as water polo in a small pool, beach volleyball, and a mini disco. The evening shows were boring and not suitable for families, such as the "best couples" show. The mini disco was a disaster, failing to capture the attention and enjoyment of the children.
Furthermore, the general attitude of the front desk staff was far from what one would expect from a 5-star hotel. Despite introducing myself as someone who works in the hotel industry, I received little to no attention or assistance. It was disheartening to see such a lack of care and professionalism from the front desk team.
There were also issues with the timing of certain events. For instance, the Mongolian show was scheduled to start at 9:30 pm, but when we arrived, it had already begun. Similarly, the dinner time was indicated as 7:30 pm, but they would open the restaurant at 7 pm, leaving guests waiting.
The breakfast experience was marred by long queues at the omelet station. The chef was seen shouting at the staff to make smaller omelets to expedite the queue, which was unprofessional and disappointing. Additionally, on rainy days, the resort failed to provide alternative activities or entertainment options, leaving guests with limited choices. The indoor pool had an unpleasant odor, resembling urine, and it seemed that the staff did not take any action to address this issue.
The late-night music played at the resort was loud enough to disturb sleep, adding to the overall dissatisfaction of my stay.
Taking all these factors into account, I regretfully state that I will not be returning to Palm Wings Ephesus Resort. The numerous shortcomings, ranging from the language barrier and repetitive food to the unimpressive service and disappointing entertainment options, made my stay far from enjoyable. I hope that the management takes these concerns into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to meet the expectations of their guests...
