We booked the Sea Breeze Villa for 5 nights and loved the accommodations. A huge 2 bed/2 bath, 1100 sq. ft. 2nd level villa with full kitchen and wrap around deck. It's about halfway down Long Bay Beach on the Caribbean side, which we liked because it was away from the main tourist area. Most days, aside from the kite surfers (who are amazing to watch), we pretty much had the beach to ourselves (which is literally 20 feet from the door). The villa was super clean and fully stocked with kitchen and cookware. The closest are stacked with oversized bath and beach towels and Luz came once a day to empty the garbage and replace some towels. There are bikes, kayaks, snorkeling gear and beach chairs available at no charge. The bedrooms both have a/c units but we never turned them on as there was a constant breeze off the water that kept the villa cool. It was fun to see the Provo Ponies come marching down the surf everyday. We rented a car and I'd strongly suggest that. Grace Bay, Smith's Reef, the IGA grocery store and other shopping and tourists sites are less than 5 miles away but the final leg of the road to the villa is unpaved and a tad rugged. Wi-Fi is available (spotty but fine). We had no issues with cell service but the villa includes a free cell phone for local calls. There's no cable but we didn't fly from Nebraska to TCI to watch tv! We did a ton of research and were so lucky to stumble across this place. I can't imagine how you'd find a better value!...
Read moreGreat price for a large house with a private beach.
Great things: private beachfront (crystal clear water) incredible ocean view, with a shipwreck in the distance secluded large house kayaks, bikes, and other floaties while there are 2 or 3 rental units on the property, we were the only ones there for the first few nights. After another family showed up, we still rarely saw them. Felt like having our private beachfront estate. great wifi only about 20 minutes from the airport, and 5-10 minutes to Grace Bay, groceries, restaurants.
Things to know: A bit old, and a little rundown While you can see the ocean from the bottom floor patio, you can't see the beach (retaining wall blocks the view), and there's no shade down at the beach. There was a lot of seaweed in the first 10 feet of water, but cleared up after that. This side of the island is not nearly as pristine as the other side. Relentless wind. The ocean-facing room is very loud at night because of the wind (the other room is perfectly quiet). Water is calm (if your kids are looking for waves you're not going to find it here, or probably anywhere on the island). Screenshot maps/routes. Or even better, download offline maps in Google Maps. It can be a bit tricky navigating, especially if out after dark. in a residential neighborhood, so a car is recommended. If first time to T&C, drive left and yield right. Definitely try to remember that on your first few...
Read moreNobody arranged a meeting for check-in, as promised. Lockbox code was provided, but no lockboxes were on property. Units are not marked, so we had to guess which one was ours. A lot of windows in the unit can't be opened. First bathroom's window is inoperable, so forget about fresh air. Owner responded they will repair it, never did. Toilet was running, so we had to close the valve manually. The property is in a bad shape, showing lack of maintenance and investment. The cleaning lady was awesome and provided clean towels and made beds, but the rest lacked the owner's attention. There is a tree on the photos of the beach, but it was cut down, so there is no shade as you would think based...
