We stayed at One Minute South, Bulago, and it’s a unique spot — perfect if you’re looking for a coastal vibe in landlocked Uganda. The sound of waves really made it feel like I was by the ocean, which was incredible. The property itself has a beautiful setting: we chilled in the pool, petted the horse for ages, and saw lots of animals around (camels, donkey), which made it quite eventful for just one night. It’s definitely suited for groups who want to unplug and just enjoy the island atmosphere.

That said, for the price you pay, the facilities and utilities need serious improvement. There was no hot water, the shower was flooding to the point of being unusable, and the doors (including toilet stoppers) were so hard to open/close that some of us even hurt our fingers. The pool also had to be cleaned by one of us before use, which felt off for a guest experience.

On the food side, while everything tasted good, every meal took a long time to prepare — though in fairness, there was only one chef cooking for seven of us on full board, so it was clearly a lot for the staff.

Overall: amazing location and vibes, but let down by maintenance and facilities. A one-night stay was enough to experience the magic without the frustrations piling up. With some remodeling and upkeep, this could easily become a 5-star...

Most probably the best hotel facility I visited in Uganda. Everything was perfect in terms of food, accomodation, services and customer care. The staff has positively addressed all our desires and has done so with very high quality standards. But most of all, the entire place has filled our eyes with beauty, from the dishes and desserts prepared, to the interior design and the swimming pool, everything instilled a great attention to details. Last but no least, the island is a true gem in Lake Victoria. It's a must-see for everyone living in or...

I went expecting it to be good but left thinking it would be a hard ask to be anywhere that amazing again. We went as a group of 10 for a friends birthday. Delicious food was everywhere. The place was quiet and felt like our own. Amazing cocktails on call. The perfect party spot. Through the night the landscape was illuminated with lightening flashes over the mainland while we enjoyed an unparalleled star scape with my favourite people and favourite tunes playing in the background. Absolutely magical! A priceless experience I wish could have...

Oh my word… this is just so heavenly… a true breath of fresh air literally, the hospitality was AAA+ just an awesome experience, the laughter was cranked up from boat to island; this is life, peace & tranquility!!!
