I have been to Jinja jungle a few times over the past few years but everytime it feels like my first time as there's always something new to experience on every visit. Just like it's host Lucy; Jinja jungle has a uniqueness to it that you can only describe once you have been there. I will sum up my experience of the place in two ways; 1. It's a place you go to heal. Healing is experienced first through the welcoming host Lucy and her amazing dogs; the green surrounding situated in a location with one of the best sunset views on the Nile;the evening camp fires were strangers gather and talk; the activities available like rock painting; kayaking and paddling(to mention but a few) ; and the meals shared at the table on the day's Lucy prepares meals. 2. A place you meet strangers that will become friends. Depending on the season you visit; A stay at Jinja jungle will allow you to meet with people from different walks of life which in itself is an experience that's bound to leave you with different perspectives on life. I have soo much more to share but I believe that I have only walked a couple of steps of my journey in experiencing Jinja jungle so I will wait for my next visit to share more information.... Personals Tips from me to you: Carry a pair of water proof sandals or shoes and a jacket as it could get a bit muddy during the rainy season. And please Look out for the dog that loves to be rubbed the most, she probably will steal your heart. 🥰

I was lucky enough to spend a night in one of the colourful containers recently. It was fantastic to be so close to the river, to see the monkeys, and to get lost in the sound of birdsong. The gardens are lush, with an unusual variety of plants. Hearing cows so close by added to the countryside vibe! I recommend Lucy and Saleh's place when you want to get away from it all with a small group of friends, or even have a reading week all to yourself. Although it's self-catering, they have list of recommended boda drivers who can do simple shopping for you. If you want to work, note there is no mains power. No problem charging phones but you'd need to make a specific journey if you had a laptop that needed charging, for example. However, being off-grid is very much part of the charm of Jinja Jungle (so leave the laptop at home) 😉 Lucy and Saleh were great hosts, with tons of local recommendations. I hope to revisit one day. You do need to book in advance.

I’ve been extremely lucky to be a guest at Jinja Jungle multiple times, and seen it evolve over the years. If you’re a lover of raw, seemingly endless nature, then Jinja Jungle is a perfect escape. View of the Nile with river access, happy soulful domestic animals to keep you company, and the warmest hosts to receive you. It’s cozy with everything you’ll need to make yourself at home. It’s beautiful - a kind of a world of its own. Plus… it’s close enough to other social ‘activity’ spots in Jinja, should you need to explore. A perfectly simple getaway :)))

What a fantastic glamping experience! The tranquil setting is magical right on the on the banks of the River Nile. We had an unforgettable experience that blended comfort with Ugandas natural breathtaking beauty. The serene ambiance of the Nile provided the most picturesque backdrop from Lucy’s Garden for our alfresco breakfast & evening sundowners😁

Waking up to the gentle sounds of the river or watching the sun set and the sight of colorful birds congregating in the trees felt like a dream come true.

The location at Jinja was perfect for us to explore near and far, especially with the help of some of Lucy’s local contacts who provide fantastic guiding services for some unforgettable side trips. We enjoyed safaris, white water rafting and old colonial culture all within striking distance from this lovely place.

Whether lounging in the gardens, dipping in the water, or taking a sunset boat ride, every moment was filled with tranquility and wonder. Glamping at Lucy’s is a must for those seeking a special escape immersed in natural beauty of Uganda!...
