This hotel looks good and it's good build quality but the service is very very bad. It's not worth the money service wise. I was told I can't have toilet paper because the owner is Egyptian as such I have to use water to clean my bum. I was also told that as it's an apartment, they don't supply many thing as hotels do (the irony is in the name). I have been here for 5 days with kids; the apartment was not dusted as it seems it was left as it was last cleaned 6 months ago, I had no towels for days (apparently the people responsible went for Christmas), no TV service (in fact all the cables were unplugged and when plugged still nothing works; they blamed it to a subscription problem), no iron but there is an ironing table, no instructions to get any service, no WiFi as you need to specifically ask for it, no microwave (which made life hard to warm food especially kids food), not even a single knife to use to make food (given that there are source pans), and even talking to the manager he didn't want to resolve anything at all as he said this is not a hotel. The service is very poor as if they're reinventing the wheel or trying to save money on the most small things which are issued by default at less significant hotels. In fact, I wrote a list of things to fix in my apartment but it fell to def ears until I threatened to report to the supervisor who happens to be in the same building; this was the catalyst for some fixes. Truly as they charge in dollars and not in local currency, the service should be on par with similar...
Read moreI am staying here at the moment. It is so refreshing that there is always power. The apartment I stayed at before had no generator, and with all the power cuts in Kampala, it is nice to have power always. Wifi is really strong, there is hot water. There is a small gym and a pool which are lovely to use. Staff are very friendly, especially the reception staff and the manager is very humble. As a foreigner, our standards can be quite high, the level of finishing on the apartment is excellent. The kitchen has a washing machine, an induction oven, I have two bathrooms, two bedrooms with very comfortable mattresses, mosquito nets on the windows, and air conditioning. Basically everything I need. Most of all there is 24 hour security so I feel safe. It is not far from Arena Mall, there is a small supermarket closeby which sells most things, and locally there are fruits and vegetables and milk etc. Very happy and for me it feels like...
