An Unforgettable Adventure at Kazinga Wilderness Safari Camp

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In December 2024, my family and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Kazinga Wilderness Safari Camp, and it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Every aspect of our trip – from the perfectly planned activities to the exceptional service – was beyond incredible and left us with memories to treasure forever.

Tailored Activities for an Unforgettable Safari Experience: The team at Kazinga Wilderness Safari Camp curated an itinerary that was perfectly suited to our family’s interests and pace. The early morning and evening game drives were spectacular, offering us the chance to witness the incredible diversity of wildlife in their natural habitat – from majestic elephants and playful lions to the stunning birdlife along the Kazinga safari camp. The boat safari was another highlight, giving us a close-up view of different animals. The guided nature walks added an enriching touch to the experience, allowing us to connect deeply with the breathtaking landscapes. Each activity was expertly organized, ensuring we made the most of every moment.

Seamless Transport: Transport was seamless from start to finish, making our journey stress-free. The vehicles were comfortable and well-equipped for safari travel, and every transfer was timely and efficient. It was evident that the camp prioritized safety and convenience, adding to the overall smoothness of our adventure.

Delicious Food and Luxurious Accommodation: The dining experience was phenomenal. Every meal was a celebration of flavor, with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients expertly prepared. Whether it was breakfast with a view, a hearty lunch after an adventurous morning, or a candlelit dinner under the stars, each meal was a highlight in its own right. Our accommodations were equally impressive. The luxurious tents provided the perfect blend of comfort and authenticity, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of the wilderness while enjoying all the modern amenities. Falling asleep to the gentle sounds of nature was a truly magical experience.

Outstanding Customer Care: The level of customer care we received was unmatched. The staff were attentive, warm, and went out of their way to make us feel like family. Every interaction felt personal, and it was clear that they were dedicated to ensuring our trip was nothing short of perfect.

A Special Thank You to Byakutaga Robert: A massive thank you goes to Byakutaga Robert, whose exceptional service and genuine hospitality truly elevated our experience. From sharing his deep knowledge about the wildlife and environment to ensuring every detail of our trip was flawless, Robert went above and beyond at every turn. His warmth and passion for what he does left a lasting impression on us.

Final Thoughts: Kazinga Wilderness Safari Camp is a sanctuary of adventure, comfort, and unparalleled hospitality. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a wildlife lover, or simply looking for a serene escape, this is the place to be. The well-tailored activities, exquisite accommodations, and incredible staff make it an experience like no other.

A huge thank you to the entire team – and especially Robert – for creating a December 2024 getaway we’ll never forget. We’re already counting down the days...

Really frustrated with this place as so much potential and yet it seems they can’t be bothered to change things.

First of all, there’s no wifi in the rooms and the supposed wifi in the food area works so inconsistently it’s practically useless. The room is also a bit stuffy so a fan would really help. Despite having a mosquito net over the bed, which is truly essential as the environment is SO buggy, mine had a rip at the top, so I spent a miserable night trying to kill the buzzing mosquitos around my ears. Even when my tour guide told the manager about it for the next night, it WASN’T FIXED. Seriously, how useless are you as a manager?!

It is pitch black as night so an FYI you need someone to walk you to and fro on the grounds.

The outdoor shower is the best part in its design and open ceiling to the stars. The water is hot but there’s only a small trickle. There’s no in between of scalding or cold - I’ve found this all over Uganda.

The interior design is rustic and simple, but the wood floors next a good scrub. My feet were dirty after walking across with bare feet.

Honestly, the meals were the best part, even though taking orders seemed realllly hard for the slow staff. As if they didn’t understand what items you wanted after being suggested. That said, the scrambled eggs tasted really fresh and the pancakes were a pleasant surprise in being so American 🇺🇸 The tilapia dinner I had one night was ace and the lemongrass tea is light and refreshing. Not so good was the horrid lemon “cake”: stale and dry, just throw it away. The mixed vegetables were also bland.

I wouldn’t recommend...

I stayed here for 2 nights and I absolutely would not recommend. I wish I could give zero stars. Upon entering my lodge, I noticed rat droppings on the bed and on the fixtures. On the second night, I noticed a furry creature running across my luggage and up the curtain and then disappeared. I closed my mosquito net and went to sleep but was awakened at 2.30am with this “rat” in my bed!! I called my guide to come to my room because you can not leave the room due to the wild animals that roam the property. I was placed into a “newer” cottage but as soon as I laid down, there was another rat climbing up the curtains. I just laid there on my phone with the light on it and then a bat swooped down to the phone. I closed the nets and waited for daylight when I could leave this place. Upon research, I determined this was a “mane rat” native to the area and poisonous. Although the owner saw me in the morning, he never bothered to speak to me about my experience. There is no WiFi in the cottages and no way to contact security if there is an issue. It is not safe to leave the cottage after dark because there are hippos that roam the property as I saw one the first night there and could hear it and hyenas all night. The meals were not as good as the other lodges I stayed at and the bugs in the dining area make it unbearable to eat. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the ginger/lemongrass tea is...

I don’t know how to express how COOL was staying here!! We stayed there for two days and wish it would have been for longer. First, I was so impressed by the job that Robert and the people in the village did with the cabins. They are absolutely stunning!! And then, the fact that you are sleeping in the middle of the African Savannah, it’s just feels unreal! The cabins have these curtains that you can move and it feels like sleeping out in the open. It’s a magical experience to hear the sounds of different animals at night and sometimes even spot them while you are in your bed! There’s also a beautiful deck where we had our meals prepared by chef Ben which felt like a 5 stars restaurant, it was that good!! The icing on the cake was seeing those wild animals (hippos, kobs, water bucks) just a few meters from you while you were having dinner! Saying this, I always felt very safe during our staying there. The owner Robert, chef Ben, Rebecca and other employees made the stay so much more special. They are such a wonderful team. They even brought a group from the close by village to dance and sing for just the four of us! You could see from the littlest to the oldest how happy and joyful they were while dancing and singing. We felt so touched by that experience and we are forever grateful to them! If you are visiting Queen Elisabeth National Park you need to stay here!

The Kazinga Wilderness-Camp is a cozy place not far away from the Main Gate to the northern territory of the Queen-Elizabeth-Park. As it is in the park area, you will see Buffalos during the daytime resting near the hotel, and if you are lucky, you get a visit from Hippos at the evening time right in front of your little hut. The huts are beautiful, and the shower under the open sky is very special. The whole team along Joseph was so welcoming at our arrival. They even packed our breakfast when we went out early for a gamedrive. And a special thanks to the experienced guide, Jerome. Even though we drove by ourselves, we did a gamedrive with him. He is experienced with the car, has a great knowledge of animals above what Wikipedia tells you, and showed us leopards and lions we would not have seen without him. Moreover, we learned from him to be patient some time when animals seem like they would never move at all.
