My friend and I shared a twin room for 3 nights whilst on a tour with Page & Moy. First impressions, were not great, but the room was clean and the beds comfortable. There was a table light on the side table, which had a two pin plug, but nowhere to plug it into, since its all three pin, which was odd, why put it there if you cannt use it, Also the bathroom, had only 1 towel, but when we requested more, we were eagerly given them.||What made this hotel good, was the food, it was very good, cooked by the chef Otto, and served by his very efficient wife Monique, both were fabulous people, who went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one, they appeared to run the place, but apparantly didn't, there was a manager, who was near useless. It was like staying in a lovely home, with good food, and after gorilla trekking for 10hours, it was a welcome place to return to, and have a hot shower, although our room didnt have a shower curtain. But the fire downstairs was lit, and it was very homely. It was not 5 star, but it was comfortable...
Read moreWe stayed here 2 nights in July 2011 when we drove to Kisoro from Kampala with GAP Adventures for the Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla Trek. After a long 13 hour drive to get here, and seeing the other buildings in this fairly remote little town of Kisoro, we were pleased to see the hotel and our room. Room was on second floor, good sized, good bed with mosquito net. Small bathroom with good hot shower. Had a balcony we could hang our stuff out on and with great view of volcano to the south. People were very friendly, had some beers in their little bar. Had good dinner both nights in their restaurant - good food and price. The staff were up and had full breakfast ready for us at some ridiculously early hour the day we were heading off for the Gorilla Trek and that was an excellent start. Amongst its peers in the area, it probably rates higher than just "average" but we rated it average becuase I expect most people are comparing it to western standard hotels. Bottom line is we would certainly go back to this hotel if we ever end up in...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night on our tour of Uganda. We didn't get off to a good start as one of our suitcases went missing between check-in and our room. Fortunately, Monique overheard us talking about it and we were soon re-united with our bag!||Our room was a decent size with a good sized, comfortable double bed. We had a balcony overlooking the garden. There were two chairs and a suitcase stand. On the wall was an old fashioned TV.||The bathroom let the room down as it was in poor condition and unclean. The sink was hanging off the wall and the taps were falling off. The shower head didn't work so you had to crouch under a tap at hip height to wash.||We advise you to pay for drinks as you go as they got the bar bills all mixed up.||The breakfast was good, supervised by Monique. We did not eat here in the evening, but the menu looked good.||Although the hotel did not impress us, it was clear that Monique and Otto are working hard to raise standards, and hopefully this will bear fruit...
