After a long bus ride all the way from kigali and Having spent some of that time checking out reviews of Masaka Hotels, I was generally prepared for bad news. I was pleasantly surprised first by the very amiable recrptionist on the phone. I had called 3 other hotels before Golf and despite their appeal online I was instantly put off by the poor phone rapport. ||I was answers by a young lady called Pauline who treats guests so well you would think she has some shares in the hotel. As she took me up to the rooms we were met by other ladies from house keeping who so warmly welcomed me. So I waited for the room. ... Well the photos speak for themselves!||It's cheaper than several other upper end hotels in Masaka (its also upper end) yet the room was much better than I expected. ||I come to Masaka often as both my younger sond study in Masaka. Most times I transit from Kigali straight to Kampala then return the next day to visit our if it's a meeting after which I either get picked by the Kigali busses by the highway or go back to Kampala and connect to Kigali. Believe me this is a very tiring process!!!||So as far as I am concerned I have found my Solution!!! No more long journeys just dorks the night do my business and return fresh for work!!! ||Phew!!!...
Read moreThe hotel is perched up on top of a hill and has the most amazing views over Masaka. It is (mostly) fairly quiet, as it is a little way out of the town centre - the only exception was one sleepless night due to a very loud Evangelical revival meeting being held on the roundabout just down the road. The dining room has an extensive menu and quite good food - but a lot of the time there's simply no cook in the kitchen (including two days at breakfast time!) meaning that you have to wait a very long time for anything to happen. Wifi works in the main hotel areas, but not in the rooms. Overall - pretty average in bigger picture terms, pretty good in Masaka terms. I'd stay there again for the view and the relatively...
Read moreWe were spending 1 night in Masaka after returning from a safari & had seen the great reviews so we chose to stay at this hotel over tropic inn. We were given 4 rooms , 1 room had a flood in the bathroom, & another had not been cleaned or the bed changed after the last guests ( the room had not even been touched after the last guests had left) . We went back to concierge asking for 2 better rooms & there response was (are you sure it wasn't you who messed up the 2 rooms!!!) |After expressing our disgust & demanding a apology for the insult we were given different rooms of a better quality.|The saving grace to this hotel was the quality of food and the staff in the restaurant, they were brilliant & the food done to a high standard. If it hadn't been for that I would have scored this...
