I recently went on a group tour to Murchison falls National Park and stayed at Global Village Guest House in Pakwach. It is a thirty minute drive from the Northern Park gate. Nestled in a small village and surrounded by homesteads consisting of grass thatched houses, this is a welcome gem in pakwach.||Our beds were large and comfortable, beautiful decor and delicious food. Dinner was a buffet of meats, beans and fish fillet including fruit salad, breakfast consisted of omelet, toast, fresh juice milk and other goodies. ||Hot water may be availed on request and there is wifi at a cost but for a rather limited time. ||If you are looking for a comfortable place to rest your tired bones after a long day of travelling then this is it. There are no spectacular views from your room window or anything but you may choose to cool off in the lounge or simply enjoy a drink out on the patio.||I liked the staff who were ready to help whenever needed. They also have a jeep you can hire for...
Read moreTravelled here in Dec. 2017, we have stayed here before starting in 2009. It has not improved since then. There seems to be no $ for any upgrades and this is very discouraging. Used a bucket to flush the toilet when we first got there, windows were open but no screens. bathroom window would not close properly and bugs were coming in. Netting had holes and would not reach the floor on my metal springed bed which creeped every time I moved. We have travelled to Uganda quite a few times and have stayed in many places so we are not new to different types of lodging. This would be classed as a no star because the prices are around the $100 range for a double.|That being said the staff tried to be accommodating , were very friendly and the food was tasty. Must upgrade and not take all the profits without putting...
Read moreI have never been in such a terrible place . I spent one night and I couldn’t sleep. The mosquitoes fed on me all night , the windows didn’t have netting so I couldn’t open them so I was also hot and sweaty all night , the fan worked but it wasn’t enough because the room was stuffy from stale air and the fan blew hot . There was no water , l had to practically beg for water before I could take a bath . The bathroom was dirty , showing they hadn’t swept or washed it in days The staff were extremely friendly though, only positive I could say about the place . I will never stay again. And if you are considering staying there please ensure all is well before paying , water, and that the rooms have been properly fumigated against mosquitoes. Breakfast the next morning...
