Came with a large family group on a Monday. Kids loved the shallow pool. Having it right next to/connecting with the bigger pool was very convenient. The pool isn’t big enough for serious swimming, but 30 people can play around comfortably. Views of hills are pleasant. Place mostly clean, but quite a few dead wasps in the pool. Staff mixed - a few friendly, none rude, but most seemed miserable. Directed me as a mzungu or as older I’m not sure - to use the nice changing room, the rest (as Ugandans/youths but paying as adults) to use a small, basic one - why? Food was tasty and hot, but took a long time to come. Order early! Menu & prices available online which is helpful. Place was peaceful, then music in evening but not too loud. Nice gardens with trees. Swings, slides and roundabout in a nice sandy area. (But not supervised or bouncy castle as another review says.)
Swimming ‘coach’/lifeguard did not coach any of our kids in spite of me asking. He did help one who was drowning with a pole; however when another one was drowning he was nowhere to be seen. He was on his phone a lot, often looking the other way or wandering off - I asked that someone watch but nothing changed. Occasionally he shouted at kids to get out of the deep end. At 6:20pm he suddenly shouted at everyone to get out, the pool is closing now, no warning, which was not a great end to the day. The coach’s behaviour would probably stop us coming back in spite of all the...
Read moreI do my shopping at the supermarket there and the products are sold at consumer friendly price. The personnel at the counter are really friendly too and professional, an the products are checked and replaced regularly on a daily basis. The Gardens at Nican resort are well maintained and the scenics beauty of the place is almost always flawless with enough space in the area. I really commend the management of the place for taking into consideration the possibility of hosting more than one event in their premises because the place is quite spaced and indeed I have seen it happen before with out any inconveniences.
A side from the supermarket market, Nican resort has accommodation inform of a hotel and apartments, a restaurant, a swimming pool and a park where the little ones can play, among other services. In my own opinion, the place is quite diverse and well planned out and I really think it deserves a 5...
Read moreThis is my 2nd time visiting and I came for a meal with my family. While your staff is very polite, your food is so so soooooooo BAD. The goat was so dry, no seasoning. The chicken is supposed to be Grilled but what they do is fry it in the chicken then warm it over charcoal. I saw this being done myself and of course it has no smokey flavor. The pizza was dry, kids hated the ice cream. They barely ate it. We ordered almost 10 different items on the menu and nothing was nice. No salt, no seasoning, the food was tasteless and it was all over priced. I cannot recommend it for good food. The good thing that I can say is the gardens are good and the kids play area is okay. The service is also...
