The receptionist speaks English and was trying to be helpful, when I informed about the issues in my room. The hotel offers transfer to/from the airport. Wifi is good. The room is clean, black-out curtains. Still it didn
t help me to sleep at night (see below). I travel a lot, and that was the worst night at the hotel I
ve ever had. There is no sound isolation at the hotel, at all. I had a sleepless night before an important flight. When the guests from the room above walk in their room, it sounds like an elephant stomping. You hear all talks in the neighbouring rooms, in the corridor and in the room above. I tried to cover my head with two pillows, nothing helped, the sound of steps from above was so loud. Moreover, when the guests from upside are walking, the ceiling is shaking, and it shakes the lamp, so this lamp is knoking against its casing, and it makes a sound similar to clinking of glasses. The bed: linen is synthetic and old, thus you instantly sweat, and because it is old and synthetic it has bobbling on it, and it is very unpleasant to the body. The pillows are very thin and uneven inside, so that you can
t make it a whole to lay your head comfortably. Tap water is very soft, and it is difficult to wash the soap off your body, you feel soapy. The fridge also makes a loud sound, when it switches, and awakes you. Transfers are not individual. They have some schedule, so that you cant go whenever you plan, and may choose only from the given time. It is inconvenient, when you have a morning flight, to come to the airport half an hour earlier, while you may sleep this additional half an hour, so its easier and cheaper to take a taxi to the airport. As I didnt have proper sleep, the next day I felt very sick and could hardly get to my country of destination. Upon arrival I had to immediately go to sleep, so Ive lost one day of my vacation. And all those consequences are a result of a night at this hotel. I don`t recommend it to anyone, especially taking into account, that people usually stay here before and after flights, and a good rest is the main thing they need while... The transfer driver goes 130 km/h under heavy rain on a dark road without dividing strip. His seatbelts is unfastened, and passenger seatbelt lock is blocked with a strange cap. I had to ask driver to pull over just so i can use a seatbelt. This is wild and scary – and the driver seems to have fun watching a scared passenger.
Also, they cancelled my booking and told me about it only when i arrived at 2 AM. But before arrival, we were talking in email negotiating the transfer and they never mentioned overbooking problem.
It turned out they are trying to charge 1000 UAH (more than a room price) before arrival, and if transaction fails, they cancel your booking – without notifying you. On my hotel card, i only keep the amount mentioned on booking website – and they tried to charge more and then cancelled a booking while i was in plane. I was their regular guest, but nevertheless they just left me without booking with a formal excuse.
After that, they asked me to pay for the transfer despite thy did not have a room for me. I had to stay in another hotel (with free transfer). The girl on reception assisted me to book it in 2 AM.
Also, some people who were checking in, was also surprised that their card is charged with a larger sum. This is bad to decieve people, and this is exactly what you get – bad reviews from you...
Read moreIf you are considering this hotel because of the airport shuttle, I would encourage you to just grab a taxi on arrival at the airport instead. It took an hour to finally connect with the SECOND driver after the communication with the hotel had said a driver would pick me up holding a sign with my name. That was the very annoying part. I arrived at the Kiev airport clean and fresh but arrived at the hotel a sweaty disheveled hot mess due to this experience. No apologies for this although it was acknowledged it was bad this happened so maybe that's what passes for an apology.||This hotel apparently had a park and ride service if you need a place to leave your car when flying. ||The room was not to loud although my room was just of the lobby. The front desk personnel spoke English well enough.||The key card must be inserted near the door to operate lights (good to know!!!) ||Andreii who ended up driving me TO The hotel was a treasure, physically walking me almost all the way to the nearest restaurant to make sure I found it. ||The transfer TO the airport was seamless as the driver is on the premises. ||In the end, I do recommend this hotel but NOT the airport pick up service...too...
