Reserved hotel. Arrived at hotel at 11:30 PM. Receptionist girl doesn’t speak English.
She’s telling me that there is no reservation for my name. I’m with shocked feeling called website that I reserved this hotel.
Girl saw that situation getting worse, told me that, “sorry, I just figured out why your reservation not showing. Because we had no electricity and all reservations automatically accepted. Sorry but we have no room”
It shocked me second time. I’m on the phone with booking company. They require me to give phone to receptionist girl. Girl refuses to talk to them explaining me that she doesn’t know english.
I lost so much time and nerve to booking company. Because girl refuses to speak, they don’t believe on me.
I was extremely frustrated and angry. Required someone from administration to talk to about this situation. She called someone and she understood that situation getting worse. In just 2-3 minutes she “found a room just for me” out of previously fully busy hotel rooms. (Then it came out that there were more than one available suites.)
I finally got my room in 1:00 am. First thing that I wanted to do was taking a shower. But there was NO HOT WATER. Can you imagine? Also there is no phone in rooms to contact receptions. I came out of cold shower and got 3 floors down to tell receptionist about this situation.
She smiled and took me into second empty room (which was “fully busy” 1 hour ago by her words). She checked with me water. She sees that water is coming cold. And keeps telling me that “she like taking bath in that temperature, why would I need water hotter than this?”
Seriously, this is nightmare. Better to sleep at airport rather than coming...
Read morePros - The food in the restaurant is wonderful. Highly recommend for anybody who stays. The menu is printed in both Ukrainian and English so easy for non-Ukrainian speakers. Front desk staff are polite, knowledgeable and a credit to the hotel. The airport transfer is recommended at 100 UAH/gr each way with an extra 50 UAH/gr if you want the driver to meet you inside the terminal. Room and bathroom were clean and tidy with a few small products provided to get you started. Free wifi throughout the hotel. ||||Cons - Basic rooms are exactly that, basic. Ideal if you want somewhere to just put your head for the night before/after a flight. There is no heating in the basic rooms (I don't know about the standard and higher value rooms) so be aware of the time if year and outside temperature.||||Conclusion - A good hotel with excellent staff in a good location close to the airport. Central Kiev is easily reached by bus 316 or 317 (a short walk to the main road) and traveling 4 stops to Boryspilska Metro station. Boryspil airport is 5-7 minutes away via hotel shuttle/taxi. Would I stay again? Yes, especially for the restaurant food (but I would chose an...
Read moreJust a few minutes taxi ride from the airport, this is a great option to have a place to stay without driving all the way into Kiev. It is quite inexpensive, quiet, clean and has good wifi. There's also the option to get something to eat, but I only ordered some coffee. I just really liked having a place that I could get to quickly after getting into Boryspil late at night and wanting to rest. The next morning, rather than spend a lot on a taxi, I found out that the bus stop was only an easy ten minute walk, and, for a few grivni I got on a bus into Kiev. However, they could have easily called a taxi for me, too. It's just a nice, clean, comfortable place to stay for a low price and it's so close to...
