I stayed here for Euro2012 first week because it was the only place that would confirm a booking at a fixed price before the event. I had read the reviews on here so I wasn't expecting much but the reality was a shock to someone who is used to Western levels for the same price. The staff are fantastic and most of them speak English and they will do anything to help. The cafe is useful and the food is freshly prepared. This is essential because there is nowhere else to eat for miles around.||||My room was small but I had to share a bathroom. There was a kettle but no tea or coffee or even a cup. There is no airconditioning although the windows do open. The bathroom was clean and everything worked but there was no plug in the sink.||||The biggest problem is the area where the hotel is - it is awful. There are stray dogs howling, people shouting at each other all night and the only way to get from there to Nivky Metro is by taxi so you will spend a lot of time and money on taxi fares and the standard of vehicles and driving is very poor. You would not want to be in this area after dark I think.||||I think the staff here are trying very hard to make this into a nice hotel but they will always struggle...
Read moreAs frequent Traveller and being in the Hotel Industry for decades now, I certainly do not further recommend this place. |However if you are on a budget trip and don’t mind spots on towels, intim hair in the shower, lime build up in the shower, dirty drains and filth as well as rude unwilling Reception staff than you may go for it.|We choose the place due to its Private parking facilities which are fine. Also the parking security is friendly and vigilant as well as the friendly female night receptionist.|To find the place it a nightmare, out of 3 Navigators and Google Maps one has to drive through a Labyrinth and get lost several times prior to get use to the right way. Signages are urgently needed from the main streets onwards.|Did not try the breakfast. TV and Air-condition worked well. No elevator available. All in all a bit better than a Hostel.|Excellent service with a Shuttle service from the hotel to the Metro station. After check out we have received a call that we did not pay the Minibar consumptions...which was not true, nor did they have a proper check on it either as we haven’t touch anything. Better control procedures from the hotel side should avoid such accuse and unnecessary...
Read moreThe hotel is located in what can only be described as a sketchy area of Kiev. It is in an old soviet block well off the main drag and hard to find. It is a 30 min walk to the metro and I walk fast. The closest metro station is not Nvyky at all but the next station along which is closer to the road the hotel is actually on. So unless you love walking long distances in the heat or have plenty of money for taxis I would pick somewhere else. ||||The rooms are small and have shared bathrooms which is a problem if the people next door are constantly hogging it. The walls are paper thin so you can imagine what can be heard at all hours of the night. No air conditioning but windows did open. Wifi did not work at all so a trip to the lobby was necessary to get internet.||||Couldn't fault the staff who were helpful in ordering taxis etc. When I checked in there was no record of my booking or the price that was promised online. They did honor the online price eventually. ||||If you are on a budget it would do but if you want to be closer to the city and have a better hotel...
