The hotel has 3-star infrastructure, with notable things missing in many other hotels of the same level (lift, kettle in the rooms, pool). Staff are friendly, even if their English is limited. But the staff training and the standard of service is appalling. A few illustrations:||||- Checked in at 22h on Sunday and asked whether there was anything I could eat. Answer was a simple 'no' and no effort at all was made to see whether I could order something from outside or any other solution. Had to go to bed hungry.||||- Breakfast is served VERY slowly, with at least 20 minutes between you pacing the order and food getting to the table (eggs, bacon, toast, slices of tomato and cucumber, nothing too fancy). One day service was so slow I had to leave without breakfast, complained to the lady clearly in charge, to a response of something to the effect of 'pity that, too bad'.||||- Bedrooms appear to have only one key. If you keep it with you, your bed will not be made, your towels will not be changed.||||- Lunch is served to the table but no effort is put into presenting the food in an attractive manner or to whet the appetite of customers.||||Waiters and reception staff are very young lads and girls who clearly speak some English, but have had no relevant training on customer satisfaction or management. Management appears to be focussed on controlling costs, maximising revenue and little more.||||Location is interesting, infrastructure is OK, rooms are spacious and have generous natural light, but furniture is old and unattractive, bed linen are old, yellowed and look very worn, bed covers look like they came from your deceased old aunt's house, and towels are very thin and scrappy.||||This could be a good hotel if it were managed with international standards of quality in customer service and attention, but today it's far, far away from...
Read moreThis is the fourth time I have stayed at the Black Sea Otrada in Odessa and I am again very satisfied with the quality of this hotel and the professionalism and friendliness of all the staff. Thank you to all the very friendly staff who did everything to serve you and particularly the Director called Raisa and that will help you make the stay as pleasant as possible. You can have lunch at the pool, which is nice. The problem is that the cards of the menu are old, not very practical and not updated. a carriage would be very convenient for the waitresses who must wear handmade dishes of the restaurant which is located 200 meters from the pool. Here is further information: For barbecue lovers, you can hire the barbecue which is located behind the pool and organize parties with or without a cook. For tennis fans; you can rent one of 4 tennis courts for less than 10 € per hour at 7 am, and you can be coached by one or a young and friendly tennis teachers who speak English, for 8 € per hour about the rate of the current currency. Reservations can be made at the reception of the second building of the hotel and tennis racquets coaches have a workshop setting. For cruise lovers, you can hire a yacht at the time with the optional lunch on board, with the very friendly Vladimir (No. Viber or Whatsapp: 00380506530505) who speaks excellent English and can pick you up at the airport to get to the hotel for less than 10 €. That is what a wonderful stay in this beautiful city of Odessa that I recommend...
