Upon arrival, I was left waiting for over 20 minutes before being assisted at check-in. One African lady at reception was assisting another guest, and the process took approximately 15 minutes. Meanwhile, another Indian receptionist was also attending to a guest. Once she was free, instead of assisting me—who had been waiting—she chose to assist a newly arrived guest dressed in local clothing, without so much as acknowledging me or asking if I was okay to wait further. This was highly unprofessional and disrespectful.
Eventually, after another long wait, I was called by the first receptionist who then informed me that my booking was cancelled. I was shocked, as I never received any cancellation notification. I showed her my confirmation, and while she couldn’t explain why it was cancelled, she proceeded to make a new booking for me. This process took only 6 minutes, including upselling breakfast, which made the prior delay even more frustrating.
When I got to the room, I was extremely disappointed by the condition. The TV was barely the size of an iPad, and the room itself was not in a condition that reflects a 4-star standard. When I tried to contact reservations through the operator, I was rudely told to speak with reception as “reservations is busy.” I then had to go down in person to request a room change.
The second room I was moved to was equally underwhelming: old, hard linens, torn bedsheets, and generally poor room upkeep. For the price I paid for one night, I expected significantly better quality and service.
This experience fell well below the standards of hospitality and the description provided on Booking.com. I kindly request a formal explanation for the service issues and the room condition, and I would appreciate appropriate compensation or a partial refund.

One of the highlights of our stay was the excellent housekeeping service. The housekeeper was always smiling and greeted us warmly with “Good morning” every day, adding a personal touch to the experience.
Although Ibis is a 3-star hotel, guests can access the facilities at Novotel, including a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gym. This made our stay even more enjoyable, as we could relax and unwind using these facilities.
We opted for breakfast at the hotel, paying 40 AED per person. The breakfast spread was great for a 3-star hotel, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes. The restaurant staff were excellent, always greeting us warmly and checking to make sure everything was okay. Special thanks to the manager, Arjun, whose service was truly exceptional. His attentiveness and professionalism stood out and we’ve never experienced such fantastic service before. The entire breakfast team deserves praise for their 5-star service. We were happy every morning during our four-day stay.
The location of the hotel is also convenient, close to local attractions and easy to navigate. The combination of great service, friendly staff and access to fantastic facilities made this an outstanding stay.
