The resort is huge. It can initially be quite overwhelming, and this is how we felt when we arrived. Unfortunately, our check-in and first day didn't get off to a great start.

Firstly, We didn't get much information upon arrival. We walked into the lobby and were not welcomed by anyone. We had to work out where the check-in desk was, and there were many desks and lots of guests there it was quite confusing where we should turn.. we had spent a lot of money on this holiday and was expecting a lot more;

The following would have been very helpful a welcome drink with all the someone to walk us through check in process and provide all the info we need for our stay

A welcome pack for guests upon arrival would go a long way with info about what the resort had on offer

info about how we get around between the resorts

info of what was included in our AI plus package (restaurants, activities, excursions, etc)

Second and bigger issue, we had booked a room for 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids) and when we finally got into our room it was only suitable for 2. Not what we wanted after a 15-hour journey

Our room didn't come with a sofabed for the kids. We had to make multiple calls to get it sorted, and it was only partially sorted by the evening by adding a single bed added to the room. By now, we were all exhausted after a very long day travelling, and we didn't have the energy to wait, so my son slept in the bed with us, and it was an extremely uncomfortable night

But the way issues are handled says a lot.

The next day, we spoke to Patrick, who made arrangements to correct any issues we had and made the time to turn things around. This was very much appreciated. He took time out, made himself available to us and made the remainder of the week much more personable experience

There are many things you can do at the resort.. Few are listed below;

water club - situated at the end of the beach near the splash park. They offer free use of kayak, padel board, and snorkelling on the AI package during certain hours - we found this out on the last day, which was a big shame as our kids really enjoyed it. It is run by a very friendly family and was a lot of fun! Many other activities you can book... we just wish we knew about this earlier. The hotel really needs to advertise this upon checking in

shooting club - didn't try this, but would have if we had more time

sports - there are many sports on offer. Golf, tennis courts, padel tennis courts, beach football, volleyball courts, badminton, squash courts some of which were free to book a d use

Kids club, daughter tries this one day and had fun, although she did ask the staff to call us once she had enough

Excusrions can be arranged and a free shuttle bus service to popular attractions - into dubai, to dubai Parks, abu dhabi too

Food/Drinks - lots of options to dine at, and most are included in the AI plus package. You do have to book a restaurant for dinner even when dining at the buffet.

Service was always very good. Often they made something off the menu or alter a dish slightly to make it vegetarian for us. The food is expensive and it did add up quickly. If the all inclusive option is affordable i would recommend it.

Housekeeping. Had a couple of minor issues as

day1 we did not have enough beds in the room for our family. It was sorted out the next day and they managed to fit extra beds in the room

we didnt always have enough towels in the room. Had to call a couple of times to remind we need 4 sets of towels

Having said that the room was spotless everyday. They even made things with towels daily and our kids loved it.

Staff are very good and friendly and make this place what it is. Can never do enough for you. Its impossible to list all the names but everyone is always smiling and helpful

Overall a great place to chill,...

Before I speak about this issue, I would like to inform you that I am very loyal & Old customer to your JA Resort / Beach & Palm Tree Court since year 2007.

In my latest reservation from June 27 – 29 ( 4 x Rooms) I have experienced one of the most unfortunate and terrible experiences ever.

We arrived to the hotel to put our luggage at 2:00 PM and do early check-in when I saw the heavy traffic on the valet parking side. I waited for about 20 minutes and then going to the check in side seeing the bigger shock that guests are piling everywhere reminding me of Transit Gate at one of the unorganized hotels. I left my luggage at the storage area and left little bit hoping for this rush to finish.

I came back to the hotel around 4:30 PM and was shocked more when I saw that cars were piling until the main gate downstairs. I had to take the basement parking myself with my wife and 2 kids and walk all the way to the lobby.

We did the check in after 30 minutes and we had to wait another 30 minutes for the luggage to arrive to our rooms.

We wanted to take the buggy and go to see the seaside and waited for about 20 minutes in this heat and humidity which I didn’t like at all.

Our relatives arrived at 6:00 PM same day and couldn’t find any connected room in which they alternatively provided them with 1 bedroom suite which was considered not bad.

Next day, we tried to head to any of the hotels at the facility and we found one of the pools (Signature Pool) and were asked if we were staying in any sort of suite and we said yes. The lady working there, Ms. Marlyin stated that our room was upgraded but originally it was standard room which doesn’t entitles us to use it even though the Reception Manager Mr. Patrick never stated anything about that.

We had a bad argument with that lady and she didn’t’ agree to give us towels. I spoke with the manager later on Mr. Mourad and he assured me that I will be getting 50% discount on all purchases made at the pool as a compensation to the experience we had at the pool. The bartender confirmed the same and they posted the charges to the room for us to settle it there. While checking out, we found only 25% posted which was not agreed.

I honestly felt humiliated and didn’t like the way things was going. We had lunch at the sports bar and I asked them about the discount saying that you may present Fazaa at the reception desk and discount of 25% will be applicable and at the same time I did the same and there I was rejected by the executive at front desk saying that discount must be applied from their end.

There is something wrong with the system and I felt parties were not aligned together. I can assure you that if changes taken place, then you definitely did a terrible job because my intentions is not to return back to your hotel or chain of hotels.

I hope you understand a bit of my experience and I can write more but I think this should draw a conclusion about...

We have travelled far and wide and I have to say that the service we have had at JALVH is if not the best, has nothing to envie its competitors. We spent twelve nights at this hotel and everyday went on to be better than the previous. an excellent service delivered by an excellent team in an excellent environment. We spent a fantastic 10 days at this stunning hotel in October. Check in : was smooth and quick, and although we arrived at 10 am and we're unable to get our room till 3 pm, they had facilities on hand to get changed and enjoy all their amenities. They even got us into our rooms at 1.30 pm. Rooms : luxurious and spacious with a large balcony and plenty of storage space. Cleaned meticulously every day and the attentive staff even fold and hang your clothes up. Pool area's: spotlessly clean, as is all the grounds in this complex, and with life guard's in constant attendance, which would be reassuring if travelling with young children. Beach : the hotel has its own personal beach, which is spotless and well maintained. The beach is approximately 20 metres from the anchor bar and pool, so you have the best of both world's. The sunset's are amazing. Golf course : a tough 9 hole course with plenty of water and beautifully maintained greens and fairways. As a guest, your able to hire club's, buggy hire and 9 or 18 holes for approx £70. ( 9 holes was enough in the heat) Great value and well worth a try, and so easy to book through the friendly staff at the sports bar. Buffet restaurant :the food here was exceptional, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Breakfast was really good, with a great choice of hot and cold item's, that cater for everyone's taste with live cooking stations. Lunch and dinner were the same, with a great variety of very tasty options. Speciality restaurants : there other restaurants that you can use while staying here, and we tried a few of them and weren't disappointed. Sette : an Italian restaurant situated in the beach hotel, which was excellent. We got served by Sahjed, who was very knowledgeable, courteous and talked us through the menu which was appreciated.. Smoking Gun : which is situated off the complex, but there is a shuttle bus to it. An American themed restaurant with burgers, ribs. Very enjoyable with excellent staff. Republik : really enjoyable with an extensive menu in a very relaxed atmosphere. ( Try the Wagu steak ) And finally, the Sports bar : perfect for lunch and watching a full array of sports. Friendly staff and excellent food, though can get busy at the weekend with golfers. Staff : all the staff we encountered in this fantastic complex were exceptional and the friendliest you could meet. A special mention has to go to Dillip in the sports bar and Michael in the anchor bar, who went out there way to accommodate us at every opportunity and made our holiday more enjoyable. Overall, this was our first time experiencing Dubai, and this hotel was a perfect destination to do this.

Disappointing for a hotel that claims to be "family-friendly" – hidden fees, cold welcome, and policies far from Dubai’s usual hospitality standards I'm a frequent traveler to Dubai, and this is the first time I've left a hotel feeling disappointed. JA Lake View Hotel promotes itself as family-friendly, but its policies completely contradict that image. I booked through Agoda, where it’s clearly stated that children using existing bedding stay for free. However, upon check-in, I was charged an additional fee for each child, despite not requesting extra beds. This charge is completely illogical, especially since the standard rooms are already spacious and equipped with large beds or sofa beds, which easily accommodate two children. No additional bedding was provided, so the surcharge makes no sense. I would like to clarify that I did not book the breakfast option, so the extra charge only concerns the simple fact of 'sleeping' in the room. This kind of rigid and commercial approach is unheard of in Dubai, where hotels are typically welcoming and accommodating towards families – especially during the off-season when tourism is slower due to the summer heat. Another major issue: external food delivery is not allowed. While I respect the hotel’s policy, it contradicts the "family-friendly" concept. You’re forced to order from the hotel’s restaurants or room service, which are very expensive (children’s pasta dishes starting at 60 AED). And unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing around the hotel – it's located in the middle of an industrial/oil zone, with no nearby dining options. Also, a 1,000 AED deposit is fully CHARGED to your card upon check-in – not just held as a pre-authorization like in most Dubai hotels. That amount is taken directly out of your holiday budget, which is highly unusual for a 5-star property in the city. Finally, don’t arrive early: you’ll be made to wait until exactly 3:00 PM to access your room, with no welcome drink or hospitality gesture, which is rare – and disappointing – for a 5-star hotel in Dubai. If you do arrive before check-in time, I suggest heading to a mall or restaurant elsewhere to pass the time. In short, JA Lake View Hotel falls far short of the warm, family-oriented hospitality Dubai is known for. It feels like everything comes at an extra cost, with little flexibility, unjustified charges for children, and a strict commercial attitude that does not match its claimed standards. I will not return and do not recommend this hotel for families.
