There are many very good hotels in the UAE - this is not one of them. What would otherwise be an ok small property is wholly let down by inept staff, absent management and a culture of pandering to arrogant, self-important guests. In the two nights we spent there we experienced the following:

Arriving at 6pm on the evening of check-in we were told that our room was still not ready.

Once given the key to our room we could then understandd why. Multiple rooms were still being cleaned very late in the day. The wait for a lift was delayed by having to wait for housekeeping staff to stop using the guest lift as a service lift.

On arriving at our room we found discarded room service items sitting outside the door - seemingly having been left there for hours since the departure of the previous guest.

When using the pool for the first time the next morning, we saw a poop-type object in the bottom of the pool. Rather than actually doing anything tangible about this, the lifeguard suggested it was just a stone - but couldn't give any explanation as to why she thought this, when she hadn't even looked. She suggested she was unable to do anything about it as she was currently the only staff member in the pool area. She then proceeded to go back to sitting on a chair, staring at her phone.

On the afternoon of the second day we received a phone call from reception "asking" us to move our car to the next-door hotel (the Mecure). The reason given for this was that a group would be arriving later with a number of supercars. It was suggested that they had booked the entire hotel and reserved all the parking - so we would need to move our car to accommodate them. This was especially important, it was said, due to them wanting to use the car park for a photo shoot of their phallic compensation machines. Quite obviously they hadn't booked the entire hotel - as we were currently staying there and had just as much right to use the car park as they did.

We indicated that we would need to speak to the General Manager regarding this outrageously impertinent and presumptious "request". This was ignored on three seperate occassions.

Late that night, after we had gone to bed, members of the supercar group (which we subsequently learned was composed of alpha male "crypto guys" and other sketchy "entrepreneurs" and their arm candy companions) decided to hold an extremely loud party in the room next door to ours. When this was brought to the attention of the reception staff they did send the security guard. However, it was quite obvious that the arrogant and entitled group felt under no obligation to show any respect or consideration - either for him or for other guests. The worst offender in the group - a very gobby British woman - decided to berate the security guard in the hallway due to the fact that, in her drunken and obnoxious state, she couldn't find English channels on the TV). The receptionist later suggested that she was unable to seek the involvement of the duty manager, as he had already gone home. (Isn't it somewhat inherent in the notion of being a duty manager that you are actually, you know, on duty?)

When we checked out the following morning, we were asked how our stay was. Given everything that had happened, from a wholly interrupted night's sleep to possible poop in the pool, we replied, quite reasonably: "not good at all - in fact, it was terrible". The two receptionists simply ignored what we said and continued on, as if the question had never been asked or answered. If they were to be replaced with robots the level of customer care would be no worse. If you are anticipating that this hotel will meet the standards of other hotels in the country you may find yourself to be severely disappointed. Unless of course you are a swaggering crypto bro with a Ferrari and a girlfriend who is three parts botox and two parts vodka. In which case, they may fall over themselves to indulge all of your many spoilt...

From 5 stars to 2 stars in 4 months(. Rarely write negative reviews but here I could not pass by. Was in this hotel in April with my friends and realized that this has become my favorite place. BUT! After 4 months came to rest with my husband and was shocked. I will start point by point, I hope the hotel management will read this review and example of action.

I will begin with that on the territory of Al Bernie very dirty, the pool is dirty, a lot of where there is garbage. Broken glass in the corridor, children's pool did not work closed with tape as well as sunbeds also closed with tape.

When we went to the pool was not towels - that is, I was informed that they are few and need to wait 5 minutes. Within 20 minutes towels were not brought, while there were only 5 people on the pool. I had to go to the lifeguard three times and ask for them - he reluctantly tried to call somewhere. Until I went to swear at the reception towels were not brought.

In the hotel was a lot of "noisy" people - I can all understand but until 2 am on the street under our windows sat a company with hookah and loudly laughing and making noise. The staff did not care about it. How about respect for other visitors?

When I was leaving the room on Saturday afternoon someone put a plate of garbage under our door - no one took it away until Sunday morning!!! The staff does not care - what five-star hotel are we talking about?

Sunday morning we were relaxing at the pool, by 12 we had gone to the room to vacate it - we left things on the sunbeds. When we came back our towels were taken away - I was just shocked. On what basis at all touched our things and took our towels. Guys, what is the problem with your towels? My husband went to clarify why they touched our things and towels the answer was "well towels are not enough we took away to bring new ones" - and again we waited for towels for about 30 minutes.

The air conditioner in the room is very noisy. Even at minimum speed it was impossible to sleep.

My indignation has no limit. The contingent in the hotel has changed, the service has become terrible, dirty, answers the staff disgusted, I am very disappointed. The hotel has such a cool location, such opportunities and prospects - I do not know what you have changed but the hotel has become 2 stars after...

My personal experience :

I choose this hotel because its one of the few hotels which have 5 stars, i was planning to have a quiet anniversary with my wife, wich turned to a very bad experience for both of us.

At first everything went smoth and perfect, until the power went off at 6 or 7, except one light anyways after 10 minutes it was getting a bit hot for me so i went to the reception to know what happened, she told me it will take 10 to 15 minutes to restore the power wich i understood and went back, after 15 minutes i went back again which then she explained its from the main power supply and it will take few more minutes wich it didn't. After more than 30 minutes i was getting hot and irritated and the anniversary mood was already ruined, so i get back to the reception yet again which she said it was out of their hand and it may take longer. So at this time the whole day ruined for me and my wife because its hot and the hotel located all the way on top of the mountain and we come from Dubai wich was long drive and i just finished my work. So i decided to cancel my stay unless they going to compensate us with something worth staying. However there was no management to explain the situation or even to issues a formal apologize to the gust for the inconveniences and even when i asked for the contact number of the managers they refused and told if i want to reach out to the management i have to call the next day morning!!!

I can understand the power outage is out of their hand and they can't do anything about it what i cant wrape my head around it is how they handled the situation was so unprofessional for a 5 star hotels and made the whole experience even more worst and with all the frustration we faced we don't have anyone to talk to, only the poor receptionist who seems shes don't know how to handle the problem only to offer late check out which was a bit ridiculous for me. The sad part i was planning to bring the whole family to book the villa with the 3 rooms and pool but i don't see me coming back ever again or recommend...

This is one of the worst experiences I had in any hotel around the world (and I do travel very frequently). It started by receiving a call the day before my arrival, telling me they have maintenance to do in my suite and asking me if I accept to cancel. I refused as it’s a very short notice and I have planned for this and sticking with it. I asked for the manager to call me back which he didn’t. I called again in the evening and the lady explained that the jacuzzi isn’t working and I said I don’t need it, I’m still coming as planned. Upon arrival, the status of the master room was unacceptable, floor was so dirty that I had to call them to come and mop it then things went worse as we started to settle in. Coffee machine was full of used pods, had one operational tv remote for all 4 tvs and worst of all, found a lot of used tissues with blood stuffed in one of the drawers in the master bathroom (pictures attached). I went down to the reception furious and demanded to see the manager who came and apologized promising he will fix everything and make it up to us but I haven’t heard from him since. Shame on you Alberni, shame on you Mercure Grand Jebel Hafeet and shame on you Accor group!!!

**Disappointed** I planned to book a full board stay here but noticed many negative reviews in just one week. As someone who books 5-star hotels often, I called the hotel on July 11 to ask for clarification. A staff member promised a call back from the customer service manager, but I never received it. For a hotel claiming to be 5-star, this lack of basic follow-up is unacceptable. With over 5 million views on my reviews, I advise others to reconsider booking here. If this is how they handle guests before arrival, imagine what happens after check-in.
