I have to start with the host Peter. He was such a help from start to finish. I was staying there with my partner for a wedding, and he helped me with taxi numbers well in advance, and didn't mind at all that we were delayed in our arrival due to the rain and traffic and stayed up to greet us. He and his partner were so hospitable and the next morning (after an incredibly good nights' sleep in the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in), he spent some of his time describing the history of the house, the estate and area which we were very intrigued by. The overused bathroom was inconvenient as it was combined with the only toilet and often had a rather smelly dog on guard outside.
The dogs hd free reign over the house, dining room and kitchen. The tea was tepid, the cereal single choice, the world's thinnest slice of bacon, farmyard sausages, a curious fried egg, rubber below and uncooked above and even the baked beans ruined by being boiled; the only hot item in the whole breakfast. They did provide Vegan milk. The room was cluttered with charity shop furniture and every surface was covered with cheap junk so there was hardly a spare inch to place a book or cup. It will linger...
