We stayed here for a couple of days in September 2020 and this was my first time staying in a Premier Inn for several years. Overall, it far exceeded my expectations - the bed was very comfortable, the room was completely soundproof and I didn't have any issues with noise that disturbed me. The blackout curtains did a great job at keeping the room dark and all of the staff at the hotel were friendly and professional. As we went during COVID-19, room cleanliness was particularly important. The room, bathroom and bedding were all well cleaned - although one thing that I did notice was that TV remote did appear not to have been wiped down at all which was a shame, particularly as they claim to pay "special attention to cleaning air conditioning and heating controls, TV remotes, door handles and desks." With that being said, in general the hotel did feel clean and fresh and there was also hand gel in public areas for the use of guests. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Bognor Regis, Chichester, the South Downs and West Sussex in general, although you can't really walk anywhere from the hotel, so you are dependent on a car which is a slight drawback. It would be nice to be able to actually walk into Bognor Regis. With that being said, car parking was free and there was plenty of room available which was a positive. Despite having a really enjoyable stay while at the hotel, the reason I couldn't give the full five stars was because of a few issues prior to staying there. Firstly, I wanted to add a specific request for a 1st floor bedroom and it was a shame there wasn't a 'request' section when booking on the website. I then tried to contact both the hotel front desk (by phone) and Premier Inn customer services, but I couldn't get through to either. I did contact them on Facebook and got a response, although it was already too late as at that point as I had arrived. The other slight negative was Premier Inn's policy not to permit three adults in one room (despite having three full sized beds in the room). This seems strange and is a little frustrating due to the extra cost of having to book an extra room, when it isn't really necessary. With that being said, the negatives that I've picked out were more as a result of my specific circumstances and in the end didn't impact the experience. I would recommend this hotel to others and definitely stay here again if I was...
Read moreWe stayed here for 5 nights recently and left with mixed feelings. On arrival late one Friday afternoon, the friendly and polite lady at reception had to admit that the room that we had booked was not available. She checked us in to a room on the first floor with one double bed. We had requested two singles but, at least once we had left for dinner that evening she made up the sofa bed for us.
We later discovered that the heating was not working. It was icy. No other room was available over that weekend but a guy came late in the evening, bringing with him a portable electrical heater. At least we had some heat in the room.
Eventually on the Monday a room on the ground floor came available. We had to pack up all our stuff but someone from the hotel moved all our belongings to the new, much warmer room.
The room was standard Premier Inn quality. Cheap, but mainly functional. One of the cleaners from Poland helped us to replace the soap/shampoo dispensers in the bathroom which were both inoperable. We didn't have our breakfast there as we had family living near by.
We did appreciate the large free car park. Despite the considerable amount of construction work going on outside, and the road works with traffic lights just in front of the hotel, both getting in and out of the hotel was relatively easy. Would we come...
Read moreThis is my 2nd visit to this hotel that is full of character & which has ample free parking that it shares with the Robin Hood Chef & Brewer pub & restaurant adjacent, that sadly I cannot recommend as service let my whole experience down, even more than the food.
I found the lady that checked me in quite abrupt compared to the friendly service i received previously, when I got to my room on the 1st floor it was stunning with a massive bed, a sloped roof plus the windows opened, it was all fully functional with the exception of the shower's low water pressure, it was also right in the corner with 3 other rooms so I thought it would be nice & peaceful, WRONG, all evening I heard slamming doors & talking which continued until at least 3am in the morning with people constantly going outside to smoke I presume, I got up absolutely exhausted then from 7am it all began again along with the loudness of the housekeeping team too, It was very strange that when I checked out I wasn't asked if everything was alright like normal, maybe this lady had received too many complaints prior to me giving her my key as she didn't seem that...
