Carr Hall Castle — Hotel in Calderdale

Truly magical & unique. Last week we stayed at Carr Hall Castle for a Ruby Wedding celebration plus belated birthdays. Michael was so welcoming to us and Nikkie couldn’t be more friendly & helpful. So too were the groundsmen who were there if needed. The lavish interior was so beautiful but yet homely and comfortable. The pool/sauna/steam room was a luxurious addition plus the use of all the leisure facilities eg gym & hot tub. Booking a massage was another relaxing experience and the ability to have a grocery shop delivered and put away before we arrived was so convenient. The different outdoors seating areas, the walks and lake made it a wonderful sensory experience. The deer park, bee hives, hens and newly acquired goats are a must for animal lovers plus being able to take our dogs was a prerequisite for us having a dog needing regular medication. I cannot stress how peaceful the castle is, I for one have never slept better anywhere - even at home. Personally this is the first holiday home that I have never wanted to leave. I am a home bird but Carr Hall Castle felt like home to us. Thank you so much for your personal touch Nikkie, loved the hamper & bubbly plus knowing we could rely on you if needed. We are already planning when would be the best time to return in 2026. Thank you again....

We visited Carr Hall Castle for a surprise birthday for a long weekend from Fri - Mon as a group of 10 and a small dog. From the outset, the team were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble - they are able to assist with private chefs/balloons for a special occasion/spa and massage treatments etc should you want them .

We were greeted by Cameron who showed us around the place and how various things work etc. Some members of our group were older and concerned it would be cold but we had to turn the heating down as it was toasty warm throughout.

The property is stunning inside and out. Immaculately clean and very well furnished kitchen with everything you need for a self catering stay and wines/spirits/champagne that you can buy if you want it.

The whole family had an amazing time and there’s something for everyone - gym, pool, hot tub, various tv’s throughout and a speaker system you can link your phone to for music.

The deer park and grounds are absolutely lovely. Superb short walks laid out in the grounds which were very picturesque with the autumn colours.

The local town/village has a good selection of restaurants - I can particularly recommend the local Thai place.

Overall highly recommend and huge thanks to the team for making my mums 60th a special stay. We look forward to...

Absolutely outstanding!!! Never stayed anywhere as beautiful and so peaceful! The castle is beautifully designed inside and out, you can tell it has been lovingly designed with extra special touches! If your looking to celebrate a special birthday of event this is the place? the setting is stunning with everything so well thought out! The castle has indoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, gym and games room, lots to keep people entertained! And also you can take you dog, the walks are beautiful round the castle, also a boating lake if you fancy being on the water!
