We arrived at the Beach House at about 3pm and it was in darkness. At the side door we found a message with a telephone number on it so I rang the number. Pam answered and told me that she had sent a text message (which I had missed) telling me how to get into the house and our room etc but as I was on the phone she went through it with me. She also offered to send a text message telling me where we could eat. Inside the property was lovely. Our room had been prepared really nicely and Pam and Lorna had prepared a table in the breakfast/dining room where we could eat a takeaway meal. An excellent touch and not one we have ever come across elsewhere. Being at the seaside we bought take-away fish and chips from the Boathouse chippy and ate it at the table. We ordered breakfast for 9am and when we came down for breakfast there was lots of cold options available to get us started while we waited for our breakfast order. This again was excellent. The following day we were visiting family and had a walk on the beach at West Wittering. We had our evening meal at The Wittering pub which had been one of Pams suggested places to eat. Again very good; the barman was really accommodating. Breakfast the following morning was as good as the first morning. We were more specific about our order because there had been far too much food on the first morning. We left after breakfast. Thank you Pam and Lorna for a lovely stay and we hope to see you again at some time...
Read moreComing over from the USA, my sons and I stayed here in August 2013, and I visited it again March 2014. It is pristine, with stylish decor, comfy beds with sumptuous, crisp white duvets, a delightful lounge for guest use with top-notch magazines, a refrigerator, and warm blankets to throw over your knees if you feel so inclined, and a fabulous restaurant with a menu based around natural and locally sourced foods. I loved the decaf cappuccino (steaming hot milk with a good coffee flavor). The menu was exquisite. I recall the sundae-like granola, fruit and yogurt for breakfast, a delicate salad of goat cheese mousse with a variety of different colored beets and green leaves for an appetizer, and the ribs were so plentiful and delicious! My sons (10 and 13) loved the juicy burgers and fries, and, in fact, loved everything else that they ate from the menu! They also played soccer in the park 2 mins walk away, and from the store opposite bought English candy! They also bought crab fishing lines and went catching crabs at a location shared by the owners. They also bought wet suits and skim boards and played on the lovely beach! We shopped in Chichester, a short drive away. In my last visit, a few days ago, I also went to have my hair done at the Spa next door, which was a great success, and came back to a delicious meal. I loved the spring flowers in the planters outside. All staff were smiley and so welcoming! I want to...
Read moreLocation is fabulous and it takes 15 mins to walk to the glorious beach. The room was dog friendly, really nice touch of towels, bowls and snacks for the doggie. Outside there is a tap and shower hose especially to wash the dogs paws off, after a long run on the beach. |Room was like a little apartment with own front door, it was clean and the décor was really nice. A kettle, with tea/coffee and milk were provided with a large fridge and some alcoholic beverages to buy if desired. Beds are clean, fresh and comfortable, I had a great nights sleep. Which then set you up to devour breakfast, loads of different foods to choose from and cooked to perfection. ||Pam, Lorna and their staff can't do enough to make your experience memorable, such amazing hosts and they are an oracle of information about what to do and where to eat within the area. I absolutely loved staying at the Beach House and would more than recommend this beautiful B&B. Thank you so much for looking after us all and we cant wait to stay...
