Stayed here in a glamping pod as part of a 2 day visit to the farm.
The farm was wonderful.
My daughter and I were greeted warmly by the Reception. Two of the party had been unable to attend the 1st day due to illness but advised they'd be OK to arrive later on if they improved.
After a fabulous day at the flower festival. The other 2 members of the party were feeling better and asked to join us. After a 4 hr round trip we got back to the site exhausted just after 10pm only to be approached within 50m of our pit h by the warden who accused me of being inconsiderate returning at that time an forcing me to drive without headlights in the dark.
This was a surprising stance given this site is a prime location in the AONB that is the cotswolds and to the beautiful town of Stow. Had the full party arrived earlier in the day, we'd likely have travelled to stow for dinner, which would've seen us return at a similar time - go figure.
To say the least, this was extremely disappointing and unwelcoming for the 2 new arrivals. Had I not accumulated 6 hours of driving that day, we'd likely have left immediately. However, we left at the earliest opportunity the next day choosing to write off the second night.
Pretty obvious we won't be returning.
However in the interest of review. Great welcome, reasonable standard of facilities and glamping...
Read moreWe stayed on a fully serviced pitch in a caravan with space for an awning and pup tent. The site was great with all weather roads and partial pitches (pitches are half stone clippings and half grass). The shower block was very well appointed and cleaned. There was only one washing machine and one tumble drier but we didn’t have much problem with availability, even over August BH. There is a lovely well-marked wildlife walk (about 45 min) around some of the farmland that we did some evenings before putting the kids to bed. Having access to the farm was great as we could pop in to bottle feed the sheep and goats, go on the tractor ride etc. for an hour or so before or after going out for the day. There are events in the evenings, pizza night, kids karaoke, food van and a bar etc. (we stayed in August) which is almost all outside in different parts of the farm, as well as a maize maze, pedal go carts and other outside activities to keep the kids amused.|We found it was a good base to explore the Cotswolds with many attractions within 20 minutes, such as Boughton-on-the-Water, the Slaughters, steam railway, wildlife park,...
Read moreWe had a brilliant stay here, it's our third time camping. Unfortunately the biggest let down this time was the food service and offering. It was incredibly expensive, and poor quality. The grill night offered expensive burgers , which on arrival looked nothing like the images depicted in their advertising as photographed below. When you are paying £18+ for a burger, you expect it to be top notch. A disappointing but expensive family meal, and generally overpriced food drink offerings on site. The evening entertainment for the children such as the giant bubble making, was also advertised at the wrong time, so when we all turned up, it had finished and the kids were upset. When brought up with the staff at the time they were unapologetic and not bothered. The entertainment and food offerings have sadly spoiled our opinion of our stay here this time. I think next year we will be looking elsewhere for our group camping holiday, such a shame as it's a wonderful location with a great kids farm park. Gutted that as a group our experience this time did not meet our...
