generally quite a dingy hotel, we stayed through a company but defiantly would not stay again. One of the windows would not lock (ground floor room) we couldn’t be sure if the room door actually locked, the rooms had a weird smell, not a clean or like febreeze smell more like stagnant water. there was black mold in the bathroom and stains on the floor of what we are hoping was more mold. the rooms were not soundproofed at all and we could hear absoluetly everything from the room above, including them checking in at midnight and thumping around until 2am then getting it on until 5am. not quite what you want after half a day driving. we met two women working and the first lady looked incredibly miserable, gave us a list of resturant recommendations and a fair few were permentaly closed places, the lady this morning was absolutely lovely so i do feel bad leaving a poor review but it was an awful hotel and did feel like something out of a horror movie. for £103 for one person for a single night we would’ve expected more, especially things like free wifi (you got 30 mins free before having to pay) and a breakfast that was a bit nicer. the breakfast was in a box with a pastry and some cartooned milk/apple juice which was pretty poor. there was no sort of basics in the rooms like you’d get at a holiday inn (hairdryers, ironing board, fridge, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, spare toilet paper ect). personally woke up at midnight due to the couple above us and cars pulling up outside kept me awake, did not feel safe in the room and was constantly anxious of...
Read moreThe front side of the lodge is exposed to noises very frequently by engine idling by vehicles that park there also for the restaurant that's directly next to the Travelodge. This is outside of the control and professional service that the staff there provide but worth mentioning as it does affect those sleeping on the front side. They also welcome pets, which I was disturbed by barking on occasion. I was also disturbed by one individual slamming next door, even during hours such as 3am, which again is outside of the control of Travelodge, but they did explain they will inspect during night staff shifts. My score is actually 4.5 because the staff are genuinely there trying to give the best service they can, but not 5 stars because the walls do allow unwanted smells to protrude through such as unhygienic and chemical types of smells as well as certain amount of sound. My suggestion is to introduce a review system for customers where other customers and the staff at Travelodge can give reviews of customers who are staying with them, which I feel would be a loving way of exposing the unloving behaviour that is often going unaddressed and will help those being unloving have something else that can also help them address their...
Read moreThe location might seem great for some, but for others, it's not because those located on the front side are exposed to external factors like people engine Idling for long periods of time or playing music in their cars in the carpark that's directly next to a fast food takeaway restaurant/shop. The walls I found didn't prevent sound or smell all that well. I found I could smell unhygienic smells and during the cleaning, chemical smells came through to the point I needed the window open. They allow pets also, which adds layers to the disturbances already being made by other customers. My recommendation for Travelodge is to introduce a review rating system for customers so other customers and staff members can rate customers also because of how your efforts in providing an excellent service, which I agree you are providing, is being completely degraded by those who feel they can get away with unloving behaviour or feel entitled to behaving such ways that cause other customers to have bad experiences that was nothing to do with the actual Travelodge staff or service or...
