Can you tell we're a dog-friendly hotel?! We had over 70 furry friends check in with us yesterday! 🐶 Dan from @BBC Radio Coventry & Warwickshire also paid us a visit to capture all the action as we accommodated visitors for this year's @Crufts ! Take a look at the Southern Golden Retriever Display Team! They'll be in Cruft's Main Arena this Saturday at 11am and this Sunday at 11.15am. #crufts2025 #dogfriendly #dogfriendlyhotel #goldenretriever #fyp #dog #dogsoftiktok #dogtok

Booked here via spa breaks for me and my partner for what was advertised as ‘simply spa day’ but the word spa should not be used here! The only part that made it feel like a spa in anyway was that we was provided with robes and slippers. First doubts upon arrival was when we walked into the spa reception and there was 3 young girls at the desk, loud club music was blaring and they was all chatting amongst themselves, not the type of smart impression I would’ve expected. When filling our lunch options she told us we had to pick a main & dessert (it just said 2 course lunch on the website) my partner is not a dessert fan and wanted a starter, very misleading. The lockers in the female changing rooms were all broke, it seemed we had to bring a padlock or use the keypad which made no sense and another lady was also struggling to work out how to use them (why not just sort this issue?), when we sat down at the pool area a bunch of screaming kids and families came in splashing and diving, it seems that you are just amongst the general public in the pool. The loungers were so hard they killed your back, I feel like I have left bruised. The sauna was out of order and sectioned off meaning we couldn’t use it. The male changing rooms smelt of urine and needed a good clean as it had damp and the water from the air conditioning was leaking onto my partners head while he was changing. There is no jacuzzi just a whirlpool that is pointless and it’s just making cold water swirl around you. The only thing that changed all of this for us was the restaurant experience, I cannot understand the bad reviews for the food as it was absolutely delicious and portion sizes were great I would give them 5 stars, the staff at loft18 were really friendly and we received great service, when we explained that my partner did not want a dessert the lady happily sorted it for us, in-fact the food was excellent and all the staff were presented nicely. The toilets were the complete opposite to the spa area and were spotless, why couldn’t the entire building be like this? It is a shame as we was really looking forward to our day, we paid £100 to use a public swimming pool and have lunch when we was led to believe we was going to have a relaxing spa day, we was very wrong.

The Best Western Plus, Windmill Village Hotel, Golf Club and Spa, Earlsdon, Coventry is easily accessible by road A45 and there is a bus stop almost immediately outside at Windmill Farm. Google Maps is brilliant for this as it will give you precise bus times, number of stops and directions to and from the bus stop from Birmingham or Coventry City Centres, Railways stations or Birmingham Airport. We entered the large and ample car park off the A45 dual carriageway between Coventry – Birmingham Airport – Birmingham City. There is at least one other small car park on the other side of the hotel. We came here for a wedding before the lockdown. There were other weddings going on at the same time but this, in no way, disturbed our rest, sleep or enjoyment. Checking in was quick and efficient by friendly and helpful staff. In fact, all the staff seemed to enjoy their job, which always has a welcoming effect. The hotel and grounds are lovely. We did not make use of the golf course or spa but have promised ourselves that we might try those in another visit. The buffet breakfast is well stocked with fresh English breakfast items as well as other continental breakfast items and cereals. There is provision for disabled parking and hotel use with lifts and ramps installed throughout. Our standard bedroom was large and well equipped (see photos) Wonderfully comfortable bed Beautifully decorated Clean Trouser press Safe (self -coded, no extra charge) Kettle in the cupboard (Tea, Coffee etc) Iron and board Hairdryer (in the drawer) Two bathrobes Two sealed pairs of slippers Flat screen HDTV (Sky HD) Plenty of electrical sockets throughout the room. Plenty of lights and lamps throughout the room. Good sized bathroom with shower over bath. Desk and chair Radio alarm clock Armchair Telephone No mini bar Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. The hotel Spa or gymnasium can be booked for an extra fee. You can have a bar tab connected to your room which you will be asked to pay a deposit from your credit /debit card on arrival. We chose to pay as we went. However, the cost of a night’s stay is reasonable enough to offset the extra bar prices. Breakfast is included and will meet almost any requirement.

Update! Finally got my refund ....thanks to this review! Amazing what a review can do isnt it? Avoid windmill spa everyone!!

We arrived early for a much awaited spa day and was welcomed by the lovely people in the golf reception with a coffee and let into the spa. We drank our coffee and waited for staff to arrive. They finally came in just 5 minutes before our treatment time. They completely ignored us and proceeded to walk past us stocking up robes and water and doing other general house keeping duties before finally calling one of our names for a treatment, 15 minutes late. We asked if we could change into robes and they replied that we could have the treatments in our clothes. We said we'd rather not and were tutted at and then asked to prove that we had robes included in our package as they had nothing on the system. We showed them the booking and they begrudgingly gave us robes but before we had time to change into them they started calling again for my daughter to come for treatment. We said we'd just go and get changed first if they'd show us where the changing rooms were and then she said that the treatment would just have to be shorter. At this point another lady arrived and smiled and said good morning and asked if everything was OK so I told her that actually no it wasn't. We explained what had gone on and she also said the treatments would have to be shorter because we were past our start time, again we said that we were there 45 minutes early so actually it's not our fault if there's not enough staff and the staff that are here don't start on time. I requested a full refund as it was blatantly clear that we were an inconvenience to them and I was told that it would be in my account within 5 working days. That was 3 weeks ago. I've had no communication from them and I think they are ignoring me , hoping I'll go away and forget about my £375!!! I won't!! What was supposed to be a relaxing birthday treat for my two daughters and I turned out to be a totally unnecessary stressful time. The staff in the spa made no eye contact, didn't say good morning, tutted, completely ignored us and then wanted to cut short our treatments! This wonderful customer service obviously extends higher up the ranks as apparently a manager needed to authorise my refund and I've had no contact in any way shape or form from anyone regarding my refund, despite filling in a form with all the details on the day. Would not recommend. Update!!! Today I was contacted by a lady called Eloise who said that she had sent me several emails over the past few weeks and suggested I check my junk box. She then offered me a complimentary revisit to the spa which I refused. After this she put me on hold and on her return she said she would get in touch with spaseekers as that is who I booked through and sort out a full refund for me. I asked how long this would take and was told 5 working days. So the saga continues. Still waiting for a refund. I checked my junk emails and there was one email.on 7th March and another today, so definitely not several, just one and one today saying that they would call....funny how they can call after I leave reviews on Google and trip advisor but are unable to before this. I'll...

Absolute farce from the beginning. I checked in and paid I was told my room wasn't ready so I asked could reception hold our bags while we had something to eat and the receptionist said they hadn't got facilities to hold bags which I found odd as any other hotels I have ever stayed at always have a room off reception to hold bags. we were given vague directions to the restaurant and ended up in the golf shop where the employee was really nice and ever so helpful and pointed us to the easiest way to get to it from there (across the lawn past golfers) so off we went bags and all, when I was walking up the stairs I met an employee and asked if the restaurant was open he said yes so we continued up the stairs I walked in and a lady asked if I was okay I said yes thanks we are just looking to get something to eat she looked me up and down and rudely said the bar is down stairs so we lugged all our bags back down the stairs to the bar sat for 10 minutes waiting on the waitress while she polished cutlery had to approach her and ask her for a menu. Finished our food went back to reception to collect our key and was told I hadn't paid in front of other guests checking in and retrieving there bags from the room behind reception which didn't exist when I asked earlier, when I produced a receipt they young guy went and got the lady who's name was on the receipt from behind and he eventually gave me the key. The room is very basic and dated it was tiny for a family room it was basically a small twin room with a fold out bed shoved in the corner. the room was so warm but there was a fan on the table which we never turned off for the three nights window was also left open all night which isn't ideal on the ground floor but it was so stuffy. Throughout our stay we felt uncomfortable and over heard one staff member make comments about our nationality. Monday morning I could hear something at the door about 6.30 but noone knocked got up to use the loo and there was a paper shoved under the door it was a bill looking for another £145 outstanding on our stay never in all my years have I known a hotel to put a bill under your door it is always settled at reception on check out I found that very unprofessional so again I produced my receipt and explained I had paid and the bill given was more than the price quoted in my confirmation email as I had attended a wedding and shoulder nights were at a reduced rate so then they decided I only owed £40 after speaking to a manager they finally waived the £40(that I didn't owe anyway) I was very disappointed with my stay as I had been looking forward to the wedding and having a family gathering after COVID 20 of us had travelled and stayed especially for that reason. All 20 of us felt the same hostility from the staff,Q if you're looking for service with a smile or good food value for money I wouldn't stay at windmill village I have stayed at the premiere inn previously when visiting family in Coventry although its basic the standard of bedrooms, cleanliness and staff are far above those of...

Booked myself a delux room as I wanted to pamper and relax from my normal hectic life. Room was very clean and cosey but overall certain parts including the room is slightly run down.

The reception welcome on Tuesday around 2pm, was not that friendly. The breakfast included is not that great but their was one lady in the restaurant (black hair in a high ponytail and had an European accent) made my time at the restaurant very pleasant as she was so cheerful and hospitable. Also there was a gent at the restaurant, I think he was a Manager and he was also hospitable.

The bar was the only part I enjoyed. Karolina was exceptional, she was professional and hospitable. Overall the bar food was quite good and pretty much all the staff members were very pleasant.

Disappointed with your spa service. Called them on Monday and the lady I spoke to at first was quite nice (I think she was the consultant working in the Spa) and went through the treatments with me. When I said if I can come down and pick up a brochure she said yes and that they are open till 10pm. When I called them before 10pm to book a treatment for the next day, I was told that the lady who does the spa has left for me to call the next morning. Called the next morning (Wednesday) and I was told she is off and try the next morning. When I said I was trying to book a treatment and I am checking out on Friday, she took my number and said she will pass my details to the Spa consultant and ask her to call me. Whole day passed and I never got the call. Didn't bother again, was planning to book 2 treatments with them. The lady who took my messages twice at the Spa, was pleasant on the phone but every time she keeps the phone, it sounded like she was smashing the phone on the reciever and was very disturbing to my ears. If they couldn't accommodate me, they should have said so when I called them on Monday.

Finally, they say housekeeping is included on the website but in the room there was a sign to say this is limited, I understand this due to the covid situation. However after day 2, I felt it would be nice to have the room cleaned and left the label to request for housekeeping service on the door and they never arrived. Called reception (called around 12 noon, Thursday) to find out a time they might come but they never picked up. So after waiting till pass 1pm, I went to take a nap. So the 3 nights I stayed had no housekeeping.

Finally checked out now from Reception, there was no courteous conversation there, it felt like I was checking out from a hospital.

It's a shame to see the disappearance of eloquent and hospitable habits this country was once famous for.

My 2 star is based on the experience I had at the bar, if I was to rate them separate, I would give...
