We have just stayed at lake view 2 for a total of 7 wonderful nights! It’s been a magical week away with the family, amazing house and hot tub! Local amenities not too far which is great! |The house was in an immaculate state when we got there - even down to leaving us tea/coffee/sugar and a pint of milk to get us started! ||Rooms of great size for a family like ours! The dog run area is an amazing idea as we could let our little one run free without having to think about who we were going to meet along the way and how she would react! ||The onsite restaurant was absolutely amazing, very accommodating for us (one had ceoliac disease). It’s worth noting when there you receive a 10% discount on food and drinks! ||A few minor points I’d like to make (these are just personal things but may help people and the site in the long run with their booking! ||1. We were there for a total of 7 nights and not once were the towels changed, even if you change them once in a week stay that would be very helpful, I did ask at reception BUT she said we had to pay for more towels! Also only 2 rolls of toilet paper in upstairs bathroom and one downstairs in toilet - maybe put a packet in the cupboard downstairs with the Hoover? ||2. The window in the back bedroom was broken (the latch) so not able to close it properly. ||3. The window in the kitchen wasn’t working so couldn’t get air flow through downstairs when it was roasting! Also the fridge when we arrived was not cold enough at all to keep anything in so had to turn it down. ||4. As we were leaving the lady who cleans came and emptied the hot tub and cleaned it, unfortunately for us when we arrived there was sand in the bottom when we got in it! I didn’t say anything as it would have taken tooo long to empty and cleaned it! ||5. When booking the lakeview 1/2 house if you have a dog PLEASE remember to take a crate (we luckily took ours but were never advised prior to booking through hoseasons) Also remember to keep your dog on leads as a lot of chickens and owners/maintenance men’s dogs on the loose so be careful! ||6. Restaurant on site - absolutely great to receive 10% off bill but I will just say one point, we had a lunch (total of about £45 for two adult and two children’s meals) And a breakfast (again total for our family around £35-40) and a takeaway pizza night (£24 for 1 pizza, 1 fries with bacon & cheese and 1 portion of onion rings) I’ll be honest some food was nice (first day here but after that the breakfast wasn’t the greatest for the price and the pizza and fries were not upto par for the price!) ||The WiFi onsite is available but you need to rent a booster box to enable you get it! This costs £5 per day! ||Also if you book within a month of leaving you receive a 20% discount! ||Points that would benefit the site||1. Definitely if possible to do make a fenced area around the lake view 1/2 houses as you have done with many of the others! ||2. Hot tub - if possible make the area so people can’t see when your in it. Especially when getting in and out it was a little embarrassing when people were checking the animals out and could see us! Also if possible to install a shower of some sort so you don’t have to go upstairs get drenched and then downstairs to get in hot tub as it makes towels drenched before you get in tub! ||3. Lake view 2 - I personally think the twin room should be at the front of the house due to noise on an evening/people walking home from the pub/people in their hottubs till after 11pm, this would make it so much easier for people with kids to get to sleep at a reasonable time! ||3. Allow people to have at least one towel change if they have a hot tub. For me personally I was using it to get out of shower when I was clean and also for the hot tub! ||4. Your loaded fries I would definitely use the chips you have for the scampi & chips as it would be...

I will give the pod 3 star and the service ( over all )

Few things need to be adjusted,

To add air con to the pods as the heat was unbearable, the hot tubs have all got Bluetooth and speakers but all named the same, so 2-3 times other people connected to our hot tub, one for over a hour playing music at night, at first me and my partner was panicking thinking we had turned music on in the hot tub and was causing stress.

The pods are covered left and right by stinging nettles and my dog had several cuts caused by them. They are also by the stairs and have not been cut.

The hot tub was very clean and cleaned early in the morning, ( please shut the gate behind you )

The mattresses are uncomfortable and very thin.

The restaurant has lovely food - but on one occasion why staff decided to have a meeting during the middle of lunch service, my partner who’s diabetic went to place a order for a panini and chips.

She was informed it will be ready in 10 mins so she waited - well infact she waited 50 mins. Staff kept coming outside telling her to wait 5 mins why she could over hear staff moaning about Christmas bonuses and who’s working and who’s not on Christmas.

50 mins later she got burnt chips recooked aprox 5 times and a soggy baguette and told sorry we had a meeting.

I got a apology via email and offered to refund the food.

Just wasn’t really acceptable when charging £1000 a week for a pod, especially for what’s provided with the pod no towels, etc …

To sit and argue over money and who’s working at Christmas in the middle of July wasn’t really acceptable when you have people waiting for lunch, and my partner kindly explained she’s shaking and needed to eat as she’s taken her insulin.

Over all the site is nice, and the restaurant on other occasions had great food.

If they take note of the above, and make changes I would stay again

Replying to the response.

Yes I paid £650 … but I didn’t stay 1 week lol I stayed 5 days so the extra 2 days would of come to just shy of £1000

My pod DID not come with a fan and I reported this and no one bothered to bring one over …

My partner was not there for 30 mins she was there for 50 mins as stated so please don’t lie and say you checked CCTV.

And like I previously said, my partner heard you guys arguing who’s working on Christmas Day and who worked last year to this year and people complaining about bonuses don’t try and make out the meeting was about a previous party / festival as she clearly heard people raising voices refusing to work over Christmas and others saying they don’t want to work too

So please don’t tell me my review is exaggerated it’s 100%...

We stayed in ‘OttersPocket’ (just as kids went back to school) for us it was perfect, we have dogs & sometimes you have to compromise on standards of accommodation, not here! I did see some reviews moaning that there were too many rules; but for us it was only requiring good manners as a guest there!, the location is close to Mablethorpe , but far enough away for peace & quiet!|A well kept small site, the accommodation was immaculate, 4 ensuite bedrooms, with small touches like liquid soap, shower gel , plenty of toilet rolls, dressing gowns provided , each room with a TV, a large central living space, high quality white goods, they provided Tea, Coffee, Sugar & milk for arrival, a coffee machine with some pods provided, enough dishwasher tablets for the week … and finally a decent hoover !|The layout was great with a useful entrance area for boots off & coat hooks , even dog towels provided (2per dog) , a large balcony area with 4 sun beds, and table & chairs on it; and they really what attracted us too there a hot tub & sauna private to the lodge.we loved that you could visit the restaurant and take away back to the lodge or could book out a outside area that dogs can go to.|And even a small area to let dogs play in.|If you have kids there are resident pets galore, play equipment & even go karts free to borrow.|There was a small spa area you could book but we did not do that this time, but is there if the accommodation you pick doesn’t have a hot tub.|The only suggestions that could improve our stay would have been a blind as well as the curtains (or net curtains) in the bedrooms for privacy , some kind of cold facility to go with the sauna & hot tub , in an ideal world as a cold water swimmer I would love one of the fishing lakes to use ( not sure the people fishing would approve!) but realistically a cold shower outside in the area attached to the lodge would do the job ! |The team on site were friendly , in summary it’s a little gem of a site , lots of other types of accommodation available, we loved our stay & will obviously be back...

Great week at Otters pocket with family & friends Beautiful 4 bedroom lodge great layout with en-suite bedrooms either end of the lodge with lounge/kitchen area in the middle, with private hot tub & sauna, it is a pity you carnt access these directly from the lodge without having to go outside on very rough stones & through a side gate . . . Lovely bedrooms but would benefit from having a lower shelf or a unit for clothes as there is only hanging space & a very high shelf which isn’t practical . . . Kitchen although very well equipped with crockery pots pans etc there is a definite need for a washing machine! I am aware that there is a washer on site but not at individual lodges, I requested a mop & bucket which I promptly received. .much needed when there are boys & dogs! We ate breakfast & dinner @ Stables with family/friends in the tipi, potting shed & the BBQ hut which were all excellent, the staff were a credit to the business well done Jack Dan & Lara 👏 👏 nothing was too much trouble. .also 2 other guys but I don’t have their names! We all enjoyed the Easter egg hunt . . . Children loved the go-karts the play area & the football 🥅 were definitely a hit! despite Izzy & Pip constantly getting the football 🤦‍♀️ We managed a trip to the beach every day only a few miles away to look for shells play football & paddle in the sea! We even had a couple of beach picnics! All in all a fantastic week & we are looking our return visit in May for the king’s coronation!

My kids (aged 12, 10 & 8) and I spent a glorious few nights in one of the Family Pods and the experience was exceptional from arrival to a rather sad departure. From the smooth check in - friendly and warm front of house - to the go carts available for immediate use, we felt rested and at home immediately. The children spent most of the days outside playing with new found friends, chickens and their bikes. My itinerary of daily excursions went out of the window as they were more than content filling their days on the farm. Book WiFi at the same time of booking and bring your own towels or pay a reasonable £5 per stay per person to rent towels (which we did and happy to do so but had space in the car to bring our own) Also, the pods have one tiny mirror. Not a problem but not great when using an eyebrow pencil! Highly, highly recommended and will be back! Thank you for a restful, wholesome, fun stay!

This holiday park is a must for anyone visiting the Lincolnshire coast! . We only stayed a couple of nights and wished we had booked for longer. All the staff are very friendly and do a fantastic job of looking after their guests. We stayed in Poppy Lodge which was very clean and the hot tub was great. The only niggle and it is a small niggle is that Poppy lodge doesn’t have a dedicated parking space, so you may have to park in the overflow car park if the restaurant is busy as the cars park in front of Poppy Lodge, but you can move it back once people start to leave. The food in the restaurant was really nice and the ice cream went down a treat. There is a well stocked pond for all the anglers and watching the free roaming chickens doing their thing was funny to watch at times. See you again next year.
