The Stables Bar & Restaurant at Grange Farm Park — Restaurant in East Lindsey

Just returned from The Stables after calling in for lunch. We have eaten there many times in the past but today was awful. No real ale whatsoever and when we asked for the cushions for the egg chairs we were sat on we were told that they had no idea where they were. Food took longer than normal and we ordered Bacon Brie & Cranberry loaded fries which were overcooked and all were crispy. We also ordered a Club Sandwich. When I took my first bite it all tasted burnt so then I checked the toast which was black and had been hidden at the bottom. A lot of the bacon was just fat. We have in the past had some lovely meals here but as we were sat nearest to the kitchen all we could hear was singing and laughter. Maybe it would be better if they concentrated on the meals more! We were waiting for staff to collect our plates but I think they could see we had left most of the meal so didn't bother to come over to see if we had enjoyed it even though they usually do come over to ask. We made a point of going over to the bar to express our disappointment but was just told that they would let the chefs know. Today's experience has put us off returning...

We are on holiday for a week in the area and did some careful research as to where to go for our Sunday lunch. The Stables Bar and Restaurant had great reviews so we had high hopes. The positives... One of us ordered the pork loin which was nice The vegetables and cauliflower cheese were lovely The negatives... The beef was just awful. It stated 'slow cooked' on the menu. This certainly wasn't slow cooked. I couldn't even cut it with my knife it was so tough. Not enough gravy The outside of the roast potatoes were so hard in places we couldn't cut them. No one came round to ask if our food was OK even though it was plain to see the beef dish hadn't been eaten. When we finally called someone over to tell them about the beef we had no reaction. When the bill came and the beef dish was questioned they took 20% off that dish (about £3) which hardly compensated for a very disappointing meal. The waitress said no one else had complained although we witnessed the customer on the next table wrap her beef in a serviette to dispose of later. So really disappointing and we won't...

Disappointing ... Outside looks dingy and unkemp, it is in a farm complex, I was walking on mud! It reminded me of a 'Southend on Sea' run down cafe with children's with climbing frame! Inside, bare tables, no warmth or atmosphere, no organisation with serving food, who put the kitchen door in front of the bar, queue for bar had to keep darting away from the door with plates of food in server's hands! No ambience. Would suggest they perhaps, complete one table of each course at a time, with Starters - Plated food, bowls Vegtables and Gravy - Desserts??? All tables were 4/6 person. My table of 4 - One person had turkey dinner, then 7 minutes later x2 beef dinners, then approx another 5 mins later the vegetables and gravy arrived and still awaiting mine! Of approximately 30/35 people in all, my fish dinner arrived last on my table and 2nd to last of whole group! All meals had been pre ordered for clubs Xmas lunch. DO NOT...
