Stayed here recently Aug 24' , nice campsite . Pitches are a good size but poorly marked out. Toilets had been trashed by kids staying on site, so all 3 of the men's toilets were out of order which only left the disabled toilet and/or family room so not ideal with the amount of people on the site! It wasn't campsites fault but took a while to sort as was over bank holiday .Showers were good but lacked anywhere to put stuff without it getting soaked. Bar on site was a great addition. Overall we felt the site needed a full time warden just to keep an eye on things. The guy that run the bar also run the glamp sheds and cleaned toilets etc etc. We had no one there to check us in either or offer advice etc.
Also they clean toilets etc between 10am and 2pm so they simply just closed them, most sites clean early first thing early and then monitor them during the day, as said above its too much for the guy who seems to have to do it all on his own. Some days they were just closed with no one even in there ? Most times they had run out of toilet paper etc including soap ! I had to report it a couple of times to Welcome center on farm, again regular checks would solve this
One evening a family thought is was ok to let there 'child' drive there fiesta around the camp site several times ! An on site warden would have been able to act on this. Accident waiting to happen although the parents/aunties thought it was hilarious even filming it.
Fire pits were a nice addition with members of staff dropping logs off when required.
Shop onsite offered basics but again opening times were random, appeared to be between 6pm & 8pm ?
Toilet waste area needs some attention ! Drain was all cracked and raw sewage was all visible, not nice. Please Please put some antibacterial gel/wash in that area like most other sites offer !
Overall a good stay but could be alot better in my opinion. We will...
Read moreCamp site was OK, pitch sizes were decent for large tents, though the areas could do with marking up a bit more for boundary purposes.
Laminated print outs throughout the area offer times for when the different parts of staffed areas are open, like the cafe for example, but the times listed on the signs are wrong. We ventured over to the café in the morning around 8/8:30 as the signs stated it would be open from 7:30 for breakfast to be told by one of the farm workers that the staff won't be in until 10am so had to leave site for breakfast. Laminated print outs also say when certain on-site shops are open to and from, also weren't accurate.
Regarding the above, questioned at the reception area why the times of the signs weren't correct, was told that's during peak camping times which wasn't stated on the actual print outs.
I would suggest updating the information around the site to be clearer for site stayers. One that says "Peak times" at the top with relevant information and one that says "Off peak times" next to it with additional relevant information.
Toilet areas were clean, but reading other reviews, this was likely because during our stay there were only two other families/tents on site so it was relatively quiet. Ladies toilets had no soap in a few of the dispensers so unsure what they check during the 4 hours cleaning window.
The farm itself was a little lackluster, but the kids enjoyed the quadbike-led ride around the farm, and the play area inside the farm was pretty good, with a large inflatable "bag" like trampoline, zipline swing, wooden downhill race track, etc.
Wouldn't really spend the 4 hours driving to go back and stay again, but an enjoyable place to camp if you're more local and go during the off peak camping times - just beware of the misinformation on site, or lack of accurate information printed around the site, if you go during...
Read moreWe had a great couple of days here and managed to get two pitches next to each other. It’s quite a small site, which was lovely — we could clearly see the play area from our tent. Our pitch was on a bit of an incline, so we had to strategically place the beds to avoid rolling off!
The donkeys and ducks are a little noisy in the morning, but that’s all part of the fun. Toilets were only a couple of minutes’ walk away, which was handy. It’s a simple, no-fuss site — we just drove straight in, pitched up, and didn’t need any interaction with the site team. Electric hook-up was within easy reach, and the toilets were as clean as possible considering the heavy usage. The grass was a little long but thankfully dried out quickly.
Highly recommend getting farm tickets — it’s great to be able to pop in for a play on the playground or to...
