Giraffe Cottage — Hotel in Folkestone and Hythe District

Fabulous stay at Port Lymphe's Giraffe cottage. Ranger led Landover tour of the reserve in with Tilly who was brilliant. Wealth of knowledge and passion for her role and knowledge of the animals. Lovely cottage, sunny evening. Drinks around firepit. Nick the chef did a brilliant dinner. Thomas the chef in for breakfast. Lovely guy and great food again. Will the ranger driving us back and after a fascinating talk with the painted dogs, we had giraffes on the track and all around us, looking in the land rover. Wills knowledge and stories superb and nice to continue that conversation at the gorilla palace for the mid day feed. Conservation and breeding programmes all very interesting and to be commended. Care and knowledge of the animals from a team that evidently are at the top of their game. Reserve is an exemplar of how to do this. Whether on a day visit or and overnight stay, a on depth conversation on a particular species or just a silly question! ( There is no such thing) Both the evening drive and morning drive were simply sublime. An amazing way to start the day. The cottage itself is lovely. Space (6 of us) and facilities all V good. A piece of England surrounded by Africa, Asia, America's. Our second stay in the park and this one ticked every box. I could repeat the whole thing next weekend and not be bored or feel repetitive....

I have been lucky enough to visit two years of running. Weather was fantastic both times. Amazing the views across the valley are outstanding. You can see France, Dungeness, and Rye. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. Food good good good, lovely choice👌👌 Giraffes come so near you can almost touch them, the nearest thing to my African dream. An Amazing overnight stay in the Giraffe Cottage with my family.
