My family and I stayed here in August 2021, and we liked it so much we returned again this year. My 6yo daughter had been asking to come back for the last two years, as she loves interacting with animals, and there are plenty at Fairview.
I honestly could not recommend this place enough as a holiday destination for families with young children. The cabins are large, clean, and have everything that you need to make it a home-away-from-home. The kitchens are well stocked with utensils, cutlery, plates and cups etc. The living room is spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms have plenty of storage space and the beds are very comfortable.
The farm itself is really big, and there is plenty for the children to do. They can walk around the farm-track petting or feeding the animals, or they can spend time in the park area, or the games room – all of which are completely free. My 15yo son and I spent most evenings playing pool in the game room.
The reason I like Fairview so much can be explained in one word – peaceful. We stay at the Will Scarlett lodge - which I think is the best one on the site as you are in amongst the animals. Day or night you can sit on the porch and watch the four pigmy goats playing with each other or trying to exert their authority over the two sheep in the same field, with limited success.
If you visit with young children make sure you take advantage of walking the goats, and the pony pampering session – again, completely free! My little girl had a great time, and still talks about it even now.
The site is run by Debbie and her team. All the staff at Fairview are brilliant, and they so approachable and friendly. Debbie could not have made booking any easier as she always got back to me with my each of my many queries. She even threw in free internet access while we were there, and a late check out.
Debbie, thank you and your team for another great holiday and we hope to see you again next...

Exceptional. This is the only way to describe the experience we have just had at Fairview Farm over our 5 night Christmas Stay. As a large family of 16 from ages 4 to 91 split over 4 lodges Fairview Farm was perfect. As the main lodge we used Lionheart Lodge, in here we had 2 great sized double bedrooms and a fantastic kids room with 4 single beds perfect for our 4 kids (ages from 12-21) the was also a sofa bed which we didn’t use but was there if we had needed. The lodge was immaculately clean and well appointed, with everything we could possibly need for our stay, kitchen was well stocked with all you need, bedding was spotless, cleaning sprays and equipment was provided, sofas in the lounge were comfortable and a lovely christmas tree too! Our host Debbie was brilliant from my initial enquiry through to the morning of checkout. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble, and any questions or anything we needed was immediately dealt with and in such a lovely way. Debbie was at the end of the phone if we needed anything at all and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. The pony pampering on Christmas Eve for our little girls was a special treat and such a lovely touch, and they were so proud of the rosettes they earned too! The whole team, from collecting the rubbish, grooming the ponies, Showing us round, cleaning on checkout and any single person we came across was lovely. I would not hesitate to recommend Fairview Farm to anyone, and we will definitely be back again and already planning our next trip Thank you Debbie and the team, you have a real treasure here and are a true hidden gem that we were lucky to find.

Read moreWe had a very enjoyable stay for a few days in both the Locksley and hideaway chalets - highly recommended for a beautiful countryside and peaceful location. Fairview farm is located amongst farmland with fields with horses, ponies, sheep and goats with self catered lodge / chalet style accommodation with plenty of parking next to them. We had 2 accommodations - The Locksley with a garden which has a fire pit / BBQ and childrens playhouse and the living room area looks out onto open pastures with great views, The Hideaway has a yard with BBQ area and ideal if you want somewhere private and is secluded by hedges and trees, a side gate takes you out into the lane and access and short walk to all the pastures There was a toaster, Hot air fryer, kettle and plenty of pots / pans plates and cutlery for our stay and all the necessary cleaning items for dishes. Bathroom had handwash soap for the sink, you need to bring your own toiletries such as shampoo, soap and shower gel We enjoyed one of the animal petting sessions grooming ponies and walking them to their paddock followed by taking goats for a walk and feeding them. In the evening we took a short walk up the lane to one of 2 stargazing locations. Nearby are a few villages and some excellent pubs - we ate at the Fox and Hounds in Blidworth Bottom which we rate highly Next time we need to stay in the vicinity we will be heading back...
