I booked Beeches for a weekend (Fri-sun) for a hen do and this place did not disappoint. From the very beginning of my booking the owner, Nigel, was attentive, friendly and very informative. We booked the two cottages (cow byre) and a couple of ensuite rooms as our party was large. The cottages were quaint and spacious. It had everything we needed for our stay to make it a hen party to remember. Nigel and Pauline were around during our visit and were able to respond quickly to simple requests (such as needing an extension cable!) | could not recommend staying at Beeches more. Thank you Nigel and Pauline! Tip: Pack boots/wellies if staying when the weather is rainy as you have to walk across a field to get to town if no car/taxi.

Nigel was a wonderful host and super communicative from start till end. We stayed in the spacious "Pig Wig" containing the usual cooking amenities, and towels and linen were provided. WiFi signal was strong enough to stream movies onto our devices. We wondered around the public paths surrounding the property to take in the fresh air. There are a few animals including cute Shetland ponies. The location is on a quiet road and well set back into the property, and only a 5 min drive into the historic town of Bradford-on-Avon, which had lovely shops and great coffee. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and will definitely come back to explore other nearby towns and heritage sites!

A perfect location to explore Wiltshire and Somerset. The room was large enough for 3 adults. The room and on suite bathroom was clean and well appointed. As they no longer do B&B the room has a microwave, toaster and kettle. When we arrived there was a cream tea in the fridge along with a small bottle of milk.we had also been given a selection of teas coffee, hot chocolates and sauces. The area is beautiful and great for walks the town of Bradford on avon is in walking distance. The hosts animals are wonderful and will visit you(we did encourage this with treats).we would all highly recommend Beeches Farmhouse

We had a lovely half term break at Beeches. We stayed in the adjoining cottages with my sister and her family. We rang when 30minutes away and were guided in and welcomed warmly. We 'moved in' easily thanks to the short cut offered from their private driveway. We expressed an interest in their many farm pets and the children were invited to help put the chickens to bed! We gave the sheltands a stroke and some carrots! Over the next few days we used the cottage as a base with easy access to Bath, Longleat safari park (thanks to Nigel offering us a discount) and other local attractions. We came home to a lovely fire we were provided with the equipment to make! The children made good use of the Games room and also tidied up after others had been in there! Yes it was cold and smelled of damp (feb2020 is cold and wet!) but it has so much potential to be a warm, welcoming place to enjoy family times with a little love. All the facilities you'd need are there - washing machine, cooking implements and utensils etc. The beds were made up to the sizes we requested - thank you so much for your flexibility and time to do that. The bedding felt clean and it was a welcome sight at the end of long days out. Things I'd do differently if going again; Probably take some descaler for the kettle - being that we're Londoners and enjoy filtered water at home, the water is hard in the area and we also purchased bottled water (but that's our preference) The dishwasher was awesome! We rinsed everything in the sink but it cleaned everything so well! Better than at home! Nigel and Pauline were so polite and helpful and couldn't do enough for us all. It made the stay so pleasant and we'll...

The Farmhouse Room (stay 25-27 September 2023) - A lovely room upstairs in the main farmhouse. Nicely equipped for simple self-catering with fridge, toaster and microwave. A small bottle of proper milk was provided rather than UHT sachets. For me as a business user, the owners kindly provided a decent-sized table so I could work on my laptop. There was another small table as well. Bed was a little hard for personal preference but I still slept well. Bathroom only had a hose shower off the taps on the roll top bath and not a full shower you could stand under. The roll top made it difficult to place toiletries, so I moved the chair nearer to the bath! I guess it was a compromise for having the table in the bedroom but on balance next time I think I would manage without the table in favour of a shower! When carrying heavy bags up and down stairs I found the stair gate for the dog awkward as it's a couple of steps up, not right at the bottom. The owners are lovely people and will help if around but you don't always see a lot of them. I would definitely use this location again as it was so handy for my place of work and very peaceful but I would stick to the Old Dairy or one of the other self-contained rooms if available in future as everything is at ground level, so no need to carry heavy equipment up stairs - and of...

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience at Pig Wig Self Catering Cottages. Although the back of the cottage looks out onto open fields, the front of the cottage has a small garden and busy road in front which meant we had continuous road noise. The cottage itself was poorly decorated (with the exception of the lounge). The kitchen was well equipped but dated, however the real problem was the bathroom. The radiators were rusty, there was ivy growing the ventilation fan and all the toiletries left had been previously used (yuck). To top everything off we had initially booked for three nights and changed our booking to two nights a few weeks prior. I confirmed as we were leaving that we had only stayed for two nights (they struck me as rather disorganised so I wanted to remind them). As we had given the host our credit card number for the deposit, they took for three nights and refused to refund the extra night! £650 to stay for two nights!!!! Luckily I had paid using a credit card and they refunded the money. There are far better places to stay but if you do stay here use a credit card for your deposit!! I have allocated one star as I was unable to give a 0...
