We had a lovely few days in Yorkshire staying at Blacksmiths Cottage at the end of June. The cottage is of a high standard, very clean and lovely garden, also in a great location for exploring Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Dales. Our dog Radar loved the garden and appreciated the doggy welcome box with ball and treats. We visited Marske-by-the-Sea, which is dog friendly all year round with a lovely beach, Richmond Castle and done walks on the Moors and in the Dales. The village chippy is worth a visit, big portions. We had drinks in the village pub, Bay Horse, which was friendly and dog friendly but was unable to have food there at the time, so went to the Farmers Arms, Brompton-on-Swale, up the road in Catterick, this was also friendly and dog friendly with big portions, recommend the Chicken Parmo. We should of booked for longer, would definitely like to return and stay again at Blacksmiths Cottage.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Blacksmiths Cottage, as did our dog (who very much appreciated her welcome pack!). Lovely garden, well equipped, and much bigger than it looks in the pictures but still retaining a warm cosy cottage feel. Didn't get round to eating in the village pub but the menu looked really good, and was very impressed with the village co-op which was very well stocked and prices not inflated. Wouldn't hesitate to return, thank you!

Amazingly relaxing short vacation at the Blacksmiths cottage, in Catterick village with my wife and the dogs. The cottage was immaculate and has a well equipped kitchen. Beautiful and picturesque location, extremely tranquil with excellent local facilities and decent walks, highly recommended

Blacksmith Cottage is a lovely place to stay, it is homely and has a room just for the youngester to either play or watch television. It has a beautiful garden. There are take aways just down the lane,a pub and a Co Op. There are walks on the door step and plenty of things to do that are half an hour away. We have been staying there for 10 years and would'nt go any where else. There is always a warm welcome...
