What a superb and cosy little chalet with some of the best charm and beautiful views that this site has to offer. Had a great weekend here, and was especially pleased with all the ammenities and the chalet itself, a lovely interior, well kept and with a great living area, more than adequate bedrooms, a modern bathroom and a decent well kitted out kitchen with modern cooker, microwave, kettle and toaster. Then to top it off a splendid patio decking area which catches the sun as is south facing and is lovely to just sit out overlooking the fields listening to sky larks sing, not only that but theres a nice little garden with seating as part of the Chalet too , it is also well kept and very colourful, lovely. If your a beach lover, then your in luck as one of the UK`s best voted beaches is only a couple of hundred meters away so perfect location for beach walks, dog walks or seaside fun, a place for all the family. Will definitlely be coming back here for another stay. Thankyou

What a find, this place is!!! Right at edge of holiday park, over looking a large field. Couple of minutes walk to a beautiful sandy beach...and about 20 minute stroll into Bridlington. Nice fish and chip shop on site, and mini market. Own parking space right next to chalet, leading on to private garden area and decked area. Not overlooked, and so peaceful and tranquil. Garden and decked area are enclosed by gates/fence, so was secure for our 2 dogs. Very clean chalet. Small, but everything you need for a comfy stay. Small kitchen area with appliances and shower/toilet room. Small 2nd bedroom with bunk beds, and small double room with comfy bed. Irene was very helpful with emailing instructions prior to our visit, ensuring everything was perfect. We have already booked our next visit...xxx

The Bolt Hole was small, but a relaxing place to stay. On our arrival we were impressed with how clean the chalet was. It was nice to relax on decking around the back; the view was great and we werent overlooked by any other chalets. I would highly recommend the chalet, especially for families. The south side beach was a 5 min walk, which was bliss. The owner was easily contactable and friendly. Ps the double bed in main bedroom is so comfy. Better than my own bed at home 😁.

Review:

Two words: Hidden Gem. This chalet is perfectly placed to enjoy the sea and wheat fields with loads of privacy and all the amenities you could need. It’s location 150m from the beach within a safe and quiet chalet park allows for a wonderful holiday with family, friends and dogs. Whilst there are arcade facilities, tennis courts, etc available, our family prefer to enjoy naturally provided entertainment so I’m unable to comment on these provisions. There is a children’s play park and an outdoor exercise area available less than 150m from the chalet. We chose to remain very isolated from others due to the current Covid crisis and were able to be away from everyone else, enjoying the entire beach to ourselves for two (out of our four) evenings. I don’t want to give a good review because I want to keep this chalet a secret all to myself! It really is an AMAZING PLACE and worth booking immediately! When I asked my 8 year old for her review she said: ā€œI give it 11 out of 10 and wish we lived here! Mum, why don’t we live here? And can we take the bunk bed home? It’s comfy!ā€

More detailed information below. The chalet: Outside there is a parking spot right next to the chalet with a hosepipe and outdoor tap perfect for hosing-down sandy feet or dogs. There is a small grassy area fenced off with a wooden picnic table and then a gate to another small decking area with plenty of strong outdoor chairs. The fence on the decked area into the field is quite low and I was concerned that my crazy sprocker may jump it when she saw a rabbit! There was no barbecue facility, but the mini market 500m down there road sells disposable ones for Ā£4.99. To enter there is a glass sliding door and you enter into a lounge with a low sofa in an L-shape. If you’re traveling with a dog I would strongly recommend you bring two double bed sheets or throws with you to cover the sofa as dogs seem to LOVE it. The chalet was IMPECCABLY cleaned and I was immediately relaxed when I saw that as I tend to be one of those guests who travels with bleach to clean showers/kitchens etc, so I was very impressed. The kitchen is small, but contains all the utensils you may need for cooking basic or even complicated dishes. There is a tv and DVD player in the lounge with a range of dvds available to use too. The main bedroom has a tv/dvd, a large (somewhat comfortable) double bed, chest of drawers, side table and wardrobe. It looks out onto the field so it’s wonderful to wake up with a lovely view, hearing the birds tweeting. The second bedroom is furnished with a very comfortable bunk bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe. It also has a tv/dvd combo. The bathroom is small, but very clean. There’s an electric shower which works very well and windows which open to allow you to let out the steam when you’re done. There’s also a heated towel rail.

There is a prepaid electric meter which is topped up with Ā£1 coins. It is fairly cheap and cost less than Ā£4 for our time there. There is a lovely beach 150m away from the chalet. I suffer with a disability which makes walking difficult, but I managed the flat walk to the promenade quite easily. I managed to walk down to the beach, but coming back up the ramp or the dune was very difficult. There are benches at the top to sit on and enjoy the view. The beach is dog-friendly and is a flat, sandy beach. When the tide is in it’s perfect for swimming. There’s plenty of space along the shore to be far away from other tourists. If, like me, you struggle with mobility, Fraisthorpe beach is about 8 minutes drive away. It’s a beautiful drive through countryside and there’s a parking lot where you pay Ā£3 to park for the day. The entrance to the beach is flat. We absolutely loved this dog-friendly beach I did not meet Irene, but we’ve been in constant contact and she’s been so great about keeping up communication and helping with any queries I’ve had. She’s a superstar!

This truly is a hidden gem. An affordable beach holiday with privacy and easy beach access. I’m definitely going to...

Well, what can I say. We have never visited this part of the country before and we were not disappointed. The Bolt Hole Chalet is the perfect base for exploring the area. A couple of minutes walk to a beautiful dog friendly beach. Five minutes away from Bridlington in a car and close to many other towns and fabulous cliff walks. The chalet itself is small, but perfectly equipped and tastefully decorated to suit it's quirky personality with a comfortable living room , well equipped kitchen, large kingsize bed in one room and large bunk beds in the other with a functional bathroom. The most endearing feature to the chalet though is it's perfect position. It has a fabulous patio with comfortable patio furniture which overlooks a cornfield. You can sit admiring the wildlife, bees, butterflies and swifts, but also be mesmerised by wind turbines in the distance, all which is fenced off safely for dogs. This truly was heaven on Earth. In addition there is a second area with grass, again safe behind a gate where my dog enjoyed to sniff around. With unlimited wifi and Netflux, even my grumpy teenager was happy. Irene the owner certainly goes over and above to help you out with good communication from start to finish. Thank you. We so hope to visit again...
