Makis Leisure Limited — Restaurant in England

Visited 12/09/2017 to let my 2 year old son play in the so called Children's play area. Said on doors opens at 12.00 but was locked shut so asked staff if it was opening. Eventually a lady turned up she had to check the play area first she was extremely rude. Finally got in to play & I must say I was disgusted with what I was confronted with. Holes in most of the netting surrounding the play area, uncovered plug sockets with easy access to for children, light fittings hanging out of the roof which again was easy for children to reach & the dirt in this place was unbelievable I have never seen a play area as filthy in my life. We only stayed about 15 minutes couldn't let my child play In such a health & safety hazard as this. On the way out we bumped into a couple of holiday makers who was staying onside & was shocked to find that the hazards wasn't just in the play area it was also in the bar area. They showed me an air conditioning unit on the roof which was literally hanging off above a table where customers sit & said staff keep pushing it back with a broom handle & taping it up with duck tape but obviously doesn't work as it was hanging off again. Had a lovely holiday here with only a couple complaints and they’re nothing major, for example advertisement of events and shows/times could be better. Yes there are signs but no times. And no brochure on arrival with “night time entertainment” advertised. Also there was a bouncy castle thing and music on one day we didn’t know was happening and we would’ve loved to know about because that’s an attraction we would book to come to. So maybe better advertisement online and on arrival too would be beneficial. This isn’t a negative just a way of improvement. We loved the site itself and the easy access to the beach. All staff were brilliant!!! Except the kids entertainer… 1 the kids did rubbish games, 2 she stood behind a desk and didn’t join in at all… that’s not how I’ve ever seen kids entertainers before. Stayed at the brand new South shore caravan complex .had 5 days in a luxury de lux caravan .every mod con you can think of .the only downside is Makis clubhouse,it has not had a refurb or put in any extra toilets in the last 15 years .there is not enough for the amount of visitors .there is only 1 disabled toilet .one night midweek we were watching the singer and the speakers went so we had another game of bingo !! The bar ran out of diet coke every night so you had to make do with pump cola !!!then they ran out of crisps and bottled lager .The worst nightmare was the night the toilets was flooded and everyone had to use the 1 disabled toilet !!!
