We stayed in the self-contained accommodation’The Stables’, a lovely and surprisingly spacious two bedroom detached annex to the main guest house with separate parking. The property was ideal for our local family members to drop by and have a cuppa in the farmhouse-style kitchen or supper with us in the huge lounge/dining room with comfortable seating for nine people. Both bedrooms are en-suite and there’s a separate third toilet for visitors!|Wendy and Nick are fabulous hosts that provide guests of The Stables complete privacy and independence, but are always accessible with offers of assistance for every need. Friendly, helpful and respectful they work tirelessly in the background to ensure that guests enjoy their stay. They even offer full cooked breakfast or an evening meal should cooking in the well equipped (double oven) kitchen hold no appeal.|Some aspects of The Stables are beginning to show signs of their age but everything is spotlessly clean and authentic to the style of property.|We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning next time we visit the area to see...
Read moreI found this guesthouse when looking for a writing retreat. 'A place to write' popped up on google and I am so glad it did. |Nic and Wendy, and their small team are wonderful hosts, and I couldn't recommend it more highly. I will be back. |I booked a tutored writing retreat. It included accommodation and catering, workshops, goalsetting, and time with an author to discuss my work.|I now feel more equipped to work on my creative writing ideas and actually produce something others might want to read and I understand my writing process better. |121 time with an author who was real, realistic, encouraging and super-helpful was invaluable. |On top of that, the welcome, the people, the catering, the laughter, I cannot recommend this retreat highly enough. |I left feeling that I could now call myself a writer. And more than that, I have made good progress with a project that was simply a seed of an idea at the start of the week. |Thank you to Nic and Wendy...
Read moreWe stayed at Bron Y Graig for 3 nights on our Motorcycle tour of Wales.
Nic & Wendy, the owners were fantastic both before the stay (as we had to make a few changes to our original booking) and great hosts during our stay.
The location is beautiful with views of the valley and steam railway. It has safe off-street parking and the town of is less than a 3 min walk away (shops, pubs, restaurants).
The rooms are very clean, and the beds are conftable with duvets, there are fresh towels and good space in the rooms. The shower is powerfull and the water is hot, so there are no issues there. The style of the rooms are in keeping with the house.
Breakfast is cooked fresh to order, and it was very delicious, there are also yoghurts, cereal, and other buffet options. You can also book an evening meal if required.
We really enjoyed the stay, and would 100% return to this hotel next time we are...
