Castle Cottage — Hotel in Great Britain

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend at Castle Cottage in Kielder. With its great location and looking directly onto Kielder Castle, it’s a peaceful place to chill and enjoy nature. This is a spacious modern cottage containing everything you would ever need, to ensure your stay is a true home from home. There is a log burner in the lounge, which would be great to use in cooler weather. The cottage is tastefully decorated throughout, with lots of beautiful touches. The beds are very comfortable and the bedding is so lovely too. There is a well equipped large modern kitchen / diner which leads out to a large private back garden through patio doors. The garden is visited by an amazing array of colourful birds and red squirrels, all visiting regularly to enjoy food from the feeders. The summerhouse is an added bonus, which is great to use day or night, it compliments the other dining and seating areas in the garden. There is a place to hire bicycles which is really close, and lots of walks on the doorstop too. We have recently visited Castle Cottage to celebrate my partners birthday. We were so pleased when we arrived. The cottage is just gorgeous with everything you need for your stay. We had a lovely welcome card and gift from Kath and Ken which we didn’t expect. Kath also called us on arrival to make sure all was ok? We were offered early check in which was great as we did arrive earlier than planned. It was so peaceful at the cottage and feeding the birds and squirrels who came to visit every morning was great. The log fire was so lovely on an evening and we even used the summerhouse to watch the birds one afternoon. The walks from the Castle opposite has something for all levels, from easy to difficult with bike hire straight behind the cottage. We visited the Observatory which was just minutes from the cottage and the Waterside Restaurant, just a 15 minute drive away - they made us very welcome and the food was beautiful. We loved our stay so much that we didn’t want to leave. Without a doubt we will be returning in the not so distant future. Thank you Kath and Ken, all the best...

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at 2 Castle Cottage this past long weekend, and it was nothing short of magical! From our very first interaction with the wonderful Kath and Ken to our seamless self-checkout, everything was perfect.

2 Castle Cottage is truly a gem. The owners have poured so much love into every detail, creating a luxurious yet cosy retreat that feels like a true home away from home. The property is bright, beautifully styled, and filled with thoughtful touches that made our stay extra special – not to mention the delightful welcome basket!

As first-time visitors to the area, we were so grateful for the well-curated local information folder, which made exploring a breeze. And the garden! We were treated to frequent visits from the charming red squirrels and a variety of gorgeous wild birds, making it all the more magical.
