We arrived late in the evening and on entering the building were met with a dingy bar area that smelt of smoke and takeaway food. The host seemed nice enough and checked us in. He then told us our key was already in the door of our room. He showed us out of the "hotel" and round the side of the building up some steps to a row of prefabricated type buildings. There was a door mat taped down with silver gaffer tape infront of the door. Inside the room it was spacious. There was tea/coffee making facilities and towels and shower gel/ shampoo on the bed. There was also an electric radiator we could turn on if needed which we did use and the room was nice and warm after about an hour. This is where the good bits end unfortunately.
The beds had old mattresses with noisy springs, wobbly headboards and old pillows doubled up in the cases. There were also marks on the duvet covers. The sink was in the room next to a built in wardrobe and I never managed to get warm water from the hot tap. The bathroom contained a bath with shower overhead and a toilet, wedged in the room together. It had a badly laid lino floor and around the toilet smelt like urine and was damp. The bath had mould around it, the splashwall had holes in it and the trims were coming away. The shower head was mouldy with a number of the jets missing leaving just mouldy holes that the water dribbled out of. There was also mould around the little window in that room. Then there was "the neighbouring guests" . We heard constant belching, swearing and shouting. There was a note on the table in our room asking guests to be considerate of others maybe our neighbours didn't have one, couldn't read or didnt care. There noise would've been heard in the main building but no action was taken. The fact we could hear them so well was also partly due to the fact that the walls between each room were probably only 12mm thick mdf I presume. If we hadn't been so tired after a 5hr journey we would've found somewhere else that night but we just wanted to rest.
I wasn't expecting luxury for the price. I've stayed in plenty of value places and even shared bunk bed dorms with better basic levels of repair and cleanliness.

The checkin procedure is fast, short and efficient even though we arrived at 10 at night. Spacious and comfortable rooms. 2 comfortable and large separate beds Easy access to the ground floor room with no stairs at all. The room has a set of coffee, tea, electric kettle, water bottles. A very good price compared to hotels in the area. The blackout curtain is excellent (a problematic thing in most hotels) Excellent value for money

Read moreWe had visited Wales to climb Snowdon mountain and had booked this hotel to stay for the night afterwards, and we were extremely impressed about what we had experienced. The service was great with the people there being extremely friendly and any questions we had during our stay were answered by the amazing staff. The rooms were clean and in great condition, with everything you would need in there plus more. The general area was great with a bar with cheap prices, as well as darts and pool that gave us a good night after our climb. Would highly recommend...
