Stayed for 2 nights and it was GREAT ... No Electric, No Toilets or Showers, Pitch black at night so the stars look amazing ... Chickens & Geese roaming in the field and walking around our motor home.||||Working small farm and very helpful .... ONLY DRAW BACK ...Was the Elsan Point ...It was the main sewer from the house and covered with a wooden lid .... There is a water butt that you can wash out your Toilet BUT the water comes out with very little pressure due too gravity feed ...SO if you can hang on to empty the toilet elsewhere I strongly suggest you wait ...If you cant wait then wear a mask and gloves ...This is the only downside as far as we were concerned.||||We have a fully fitted Motor Home and did not need any facilities apart from the elsan point ||||They sell fresh eggs and vegetables (When in Season) ||||Glastonbury is a 10 min walk from the site and on the way we passed Glastonbury recycling .... Wonderful place for looking around.||||Our sat nav did not recognise the name and set up 1 mile passed the turning for the farm.||||When you enter Goodney Road you will pass a large Caravan site on your left .... Read moreThis working farm was a wonderful experience! A true nature camping experience. With an eco friendly compost toilet and single tap water supply you are in the basics of nature but that is not an issue to a true off the grid camper. You are in nature under bright stars with chicken and geese following you around. No concrete, no electricity, no bright lights no pretentious pretend camper facilities. A totally off grid experience. It was a joy to watch the owners working the land around us during the day. |The picturesque village of Glastonbury only a ten minute walk away for supplies of wonderful breads and the famous spring waters which tasted so pure. This spring water is free to collect any time night or day. The locals more than happy to charge up my phone as I forgot my charge pack. I highly recommend this off grid outdoor experience. It was one of the best holidays I had experienced due to its true nature. This camp site is a must for anyone wanting to attempt off grid living and for those wanting a true country living experience. Book early to avoid busy times and respect the working farm needs. We were surprised how quickly we got into the centre so its very convenient. ||||You need your own facilities; and since we were only there for two nights we didn't use anything more than the water tap on this occasion. ||||The field for camping is to the side of the farm; there was some hard-standing though I believe the are plans to increase the amount for next year.||||One note - the turning is just off Godney road with a sign saying unsuitable for motors and warning of potholes - I think the trouble is further down though as there was no difficulty getting to the campsite. Handy...
