If I could give this review zero stars I would !

As a family we visited this pub before we could get into our rental accommodation, there were 10 of us, we all had drinks and food, to be honest the food and drinks were fine however the attitude of the bar staff was absolutely appalling. We went to order a pudding however we were told they only serve food until 3pm which is ok ! So we had another round of drinks. My 15 year old daughter who is Type1 Diabetic had a low blood sugar episode so we purchased a waffle from what we thought was their waffle shack as it was on a piece of land which looked to be owned by the pub ? However after sitting back down at the table a very rude young lad who actually served me came over and shouted “you can’t bloody well eat that here” ! We were quite shocked and I actually said to him “that is totally out of order” to his reply “piss off somewhere else then ! “ I tried to explain the situation about my daughters Type 1 however he didn’t care at all, so we simply left. I personally sent an email to both the website and phoned several times to speak to the landlord as I was pretty angry, I would not normally write a review like this, however they are obviously not bothered as I have had absolutely no reply. I can understand totally if it was busy and we had just sat on their tables not ordered anything and ate our own food, however it was very quite we were actually the only group outside and we had spent well over £150.

I just wish we had read some of the reviews before visiting here !!!!

Avoid like...

Extremely disappointed with the attitude of the bar staff. We called in as a family of 8 recently, firstly we asked if we could have a tab so we could all share the cost but they don't do tabs. No problem. Two members of our group went to order the food at the same time with the same member of staff. As we wanted to pay separately the lady serving took the two orders separately but confirmed it was the same table order. Half the food came out about 30-40 mins later which was no problem as we expected to wait. However it was 50-60 minutes before the rest of the order arrived. A member of our party went up 3 times to ask what was happening. The bar staff didn't check with the kitchen but kept saying it wont be long. On the third occasion we asked the man and young lady behind the bar they both sniggered! absolutely appalling behaviour! no one in our party enjoyed their food due to the ridiculous long wait. We could see 5 tables had been served in the dining room in between our half order which was very strange, It was obvious our order was forgotten but we didn't even receive an apology. When the rest of the order arrived the waitress put it on the table without a word. We were all very upset as we had two young children starving and waiting for their food. We totally understand the demands of the Summer season but customer service was definitely a massive issue here. Take your money and forget about you because 'you're a tourist passing through', Sorry we are local but will not be...

Stopped here for lunch with the grandchildren. They had a good selection from which the grandchildren could choose. They chose the chicken chunks with chips and scampi with chips and peas. When the servings arrived, the portions where extremely generous. None of the grandchildren could finish the delicious food they were enjoying. The delicious adult servings were equally generous. Although it did a few extra minutes for the food to arrive, it was piping hot. The service was spot on and following up to ensure that we were satisfied with our experience. I would highly recommend this as an excellent place to enjoy a wonderful meal. The picture shows the Duke Salad and the other shows the Cheesy...
