My husband, the dog and I are just back from the most wonderful week at Ellicombe Manor cottages. We loved the spacious, well equipped cottage, the beautiful grounds with all their unique areas and features and the pool - we were lucky enough to get sun every day and at the pool we literally felt like we were abroad. We walked to Dunster and Conygar tower, drove to Dulverton, the Tarr Steps, up on the moors and down to Lynton and the Valley of the Rocks. All were incredible and easy from Ellicombe by car. We ate delicious food at the Porlock Oyster Company kitchen and from the Friday fish van in Minehead. There's also 3-4 supermarkets within a mile....
Read moreThe cottage was stunning - immaculately clean with extremely comfy beds and pillows - and lovely personal touches. Dog biscuits and poo bags, milk in the fridge a lovely selection of teas and coffee, and washing up stuff. The setting is just beautiful - a huge garden/grounds with lots of lovely private places to sit and enjoy the incredible scenery - pool looked awesome it was too cold to swim! Lovely long walks for my dog too. The hosts are so friendly and helpful - I could not recommend more - the best self service cottages we have ever stayed in! Read moreI always judge a place that says it's Dog friendly on how friendly? I felt my Puggies were very well catered for and they could be left to roam the massive gardens to their hearts content under my supervision of course. The Coach house was just the right size for 2 people and 2 dog's, towels were provided for the wet dog's and there were no rules, most dog friendly accommodation say they are but not really this place was,just treat with respect for the owners and next guests .
