Alcombe Tandoori — Restaurant in England

Ordered a lot of food and on arriving home some items were missing which meant members of our party went without food. I called them to amicably see how we could resolve this. The phone line dropped and they called me back to say I was trying to make money out of them, over a couple of missing portions of onion bhajis and a couple of mains. I ordered nearly £500 of food, in a single order, and called them as we were live-unpacking the final couple of cartons of food while on the phone. The large order was placed a week in advance and I paid a deposit. I called them on the day to amend the order as a couple of guests couldn't attend our celebration, double checked over the phone everything, asked to check on pick-up to be told everything was in order and no need to check. To be called back to be offended and then told I would get a refund on half of the missing items as a goodwill gesture is really a new level of customer service I never want to experience again. Mistakes happen but to be telephoned back to be called a liar is outrageous. Refunding of food that was never fulfilled is NOT goodwill! AVOID! Check other reviews on missing items and service.

*EDIT: To add insult to injury, they have now charged me AGAIN for half of the missing food rather than the purported refund, so I've paid £11.90x2 for two missing...

I have been ordering from this restaurant for 3 years. At first food was fantastic, but then it went massively down hill. Water? And I mean so much water in our curry dishes! To the point we had to drain our plates and ended up throwing it away! We thought perhaps it was a bad night. So we thought we'd order food from what was once our favourite Indian restaurants in minehead on new years eve to again soo much Water, no taste, everything soggy and oily. Nan bread with no cheese or garlic to rock hard stail bread. We paid nearly £70 to throwing our food once again in the bin. What a real shame. Left hungry out of pocket on new years eve. We ended up going home and having some toast. Really really disappointing. We won't order or dine in again. Staff didn't even say hello or welcome me and I was a regular. Just really disappointed. There was a problem with online ordering so when we arrived to collect they hadn’t received the order although the money had been taken, they told me that it would be ready in 5 mins and I jokingly asked that they cook it properly. The staff were very apologetic and friendly, no issues there. The food was terrible, very expensive, small portions and apart from the Bombay potatoes no spice or herbs, garlic cheese naan, no garlic and a layer of congealed cheddar on top that was rubbery and tasteless, watery tarka daal and stale paneer in the chilli paneer with no spice and inedible pieces of rubber, what a huge disappointment and a waste of time, money and drive to collect 👎🏽 to top it all I sliced the top of my finger on the foil container lid...
