Overall Glastotel is a great place to stay at - [Toilets cleanliness đ - showers (water temp could be improved, being on the hot side) - Bar (great staff and drinks) - Tents are spacious and nicely furnished - Elton John performance tribute was the highlight - overall the people were all nice and friendly] - One thing to be mindful of is the long walk to Gate D (between 20 to 30 mins) especially walking back with a heavy head ⌠after a long day at the festival. I guess this was factored into the price of the accommodation, considering that other campsites much closer to Gate D were more expensive that Glastotel (this is in my own opinion). Few comments for the team to take onboard for next year:
1- Catering - ridiculously long queues for coffee, shorter queues for the food truck, but still. Felt there was a mismatch between the no. of guests (demand) and what the caterer has prepared for or was ready to cope with! Also given the demand, a wider variety of food options would be a great added value and a win win for everyone.
2- Whilst most of the staff were super friendly and attentive, others lacked the hospitality acumen with a bit of arrogance, especially in dealing with grumpy guests or complaints (clearly coming from non hospitality background)
3- Road Signs that direct guests to Glasto would be great deal
4- A paid shuttle service to Gate D would be an awesome idea (wishful thinking I know)
To conclude, Glastotel made our Glastonbury experience so special and we couldnât do the festival in any other way. Looking forward to staying with you again next year (obviously if we got lucky to get...
Read moreWe stayed in Glampville for Glasto 2025, and happy to report was excellent in most ways. Attentive staff, nice toilets, hot showers, furnished and comfortable tents with all linen and towels provided, and the onsite facilities are really great, including sauna, plunge pool and jacuzzis (at additional cost to initial booking). Also has a decent selection of food and drinks too - pints were only £6.50 which was EXCELLENT news.
That said, the walk to Gate D and into the festival is a challenge to do in both directions for 5 days. They do offer a shuttle to take you to Gate A, but then it's a longer walk in to the actual festival that way, so either way you have to succumb to a sizeable number of kms on foot (took about 45mins each way). Only other criticism is tent placement - we ended up opposite a group of 6 20-something year old lads who outright refused to acknowledge the format/layout of the site i.e. social area to the top, camping/sleeping area down the hill, so just constantly sat out the tent till 3-4am making noise. Suggestion to Glampville would be to make sure everyone is respectful of that format and make a point around it in their marketing. Sleep is literally the one thing you need at a 5 day festival :)
Slightly cheeky too charging an obscene amount of money for electricity and then saying we couldn't use it to power a fan in the blistering heat. Restricted use wasn't made clear up front on the booking.
Overall, wonderful experience though and would definitely go back again, even just for the Elton John musical impersonator and incredible bloody...
Read moreGlastotel could have been 5 star, but unfortunately so many small and easy things were not executed well. On arrival the reception staff didn't know how to check us in, and then asked us to wait for the golf cart to be taken to our tent. It took 20 minutes to then find out we could have walked it in 3 minutes. One of the beds kept deflating and we asked multiple times for them to change it and they never did. The queue for a coffee in the morning took over an hour on the first day and then on the second after queueing for 20 minutes we were told they were not taking anymore orders because they had over 100 to do. They had one coffee machine for the whole site! Similarly the food truck kept running out of things and the queue was ridiculous too. Probably the most annoying part was that it was a 25 minute walk from our tent to the D gate, not a 10 minute walk!
The positives were the bar staff were great, the line always went down quickly and the drinks were very nice. The toilets were nearly always clean, and the staff looking after them were friendly and polite. The line for the shower was also always very quick, but frustratingly lots of the showers were scolding hot!
I provided a polite feedback email afterwards and the reply was clearly a template, which didn't acknowledge any of the issues and simply said if you come next year we'll give you a 10% discount. I would not return unless they told me they had 10 coffee machines, multiple food trucks, showers that didn't burn you alive, and front of house staff that knew what...
