We arrived late after our first day of walking from Wallsend. I remembered to call and warn Paula and Jeff that I would be late, which wasn't a problem. Paula greeted us and gave us the run down on the hostel, including the lounge and kitchen. Our room was a 3 bed with ensuite so perfect for my small party. The room was clean, and the beds were really comfortable.
Included with our stay was a breakfast, which included a bap, cereal, and fruit. It was more than ample to get us going in the morning.
Our hostess, Paula, was amazing. She gave us many good suggestions for places to stop on our walk and cautions if we felt too tired or needed a break. I was suffering with a sore back, and she had noticed. We appreciated her advice for sure.
I would say that we received very good value and I would not hesitate to stay again. In fact, I would choose this hostel over hotels I stayed...
Read moreRang day before as we needed somewhere to stay before the last leg of our Hadrians wall walk. We were greeted by Paula who is a great host and has a cracking personality and someone who you can have a laugh with. Bunk rooms were decent size and beds very comfy and quiet giving a good night's sleep. There is a tv room with a few comfy settees in and you are made to feel at home. Paula greeted us with a decent breakfast, cereals, cheese, yogurts, fruit, toast and eggs anyway you please apart from poached as Paula says she can't keep the 2 parts of the egg together! Ha ha great character . Made us 4 feel very welcome and if ever I need a roof over my head in heddon on the wall I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again. Decent price aswell £28.50 each a night. Loads of takeaways will deliver to your room...

Paula and her daughter were incredibly welcoming, and as we were lucky enough to be there during lambing season, they offered to introduce us to their adorable lambs! The room was very comfortable, spacious and warm. You get complete access to a fully equipped kitchen and a common lounge area with good Wifi reception. Breakfast was generous and includes vegetarian options plus unlimited coffee and/or tea refills! Paula offered to prepare us packed lunches, and was full of great recommendations for places to stop and eat along the way. Overall, we were really happy with our stay and would definitely recommend to anyone walking the path or wishing to make a stop in the...
