We had such a fantastic stay at Lakeside Hotel and canât recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, Tim and Karen made us feel so welcome â theyâre genuinely lovely people, incredibly friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed chatting with them throughout our stay.||We upgraded to a front-facing room and it was absolutely worth it â the views were stunning and the room itself was perfect for the two of us. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, and peaceful â it made the perfect base for our walking holiday.||Speaking of which, the hotel is really well located for exploring the surrounding area. We used it as a base for walks in Keswick, Cockermouth and Buttermere â all easy to get to by car. Tim was brilliant at helping us choose routes and offered some really helpful local knowledge on where to go walking, while Karen gave us great recommendations for places to eat.||Do note â the area is quite isolated, which adds to the charm, but taxis can be hard to come by, so itâs worth planning your evenings ahead. We ended up heading out early for dinner and finishing the night with a drink at the lovely local pub, which worked perfectly.||But the absolute highlight? The breakfast. Sensational. Every single morning we were blown away â top-tier ingredients, beautifully cooked, and a fantastic menu that we wish we could have worked our way through in full. It really set us up for a full day of hiking and exploring.||The hotel, the views, the walks, the peace and quiet â everything was just spot on. But what really makes this place stand out is Tim and Karen. You can tell how much care they put into making sure their guests feel at home. We canât wait...
