This hotel was ok but no better. The 2 staff we met were friendly and helpful but otherwise there was a feeling of neglect in the place. There was no dinner available on the night we stayed so we had to go to Caernarfon (1.5 miles away) to eat. Our room was average with a large bed, coffee/tea available and a nice outlook onto the gravel drive and gardens. The bathroom was also average with shower and toiletries but the plumbing was very noisy every time you, or your neighbour, flushed the toilet. Not the fault of the hotel, but we were also woken up by someone ringing the front door bell and hammering on the door at 03:15 so didn't get a great nights sleep. The full Welsh breakfast was very nice.

Absolutely lovely host, Deluxe room was gorgeous, extremely comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was great and options available for specific dietary requirements (English Breakfast/Continental/Gluten Free). Nice open fire, drinks available. Good access to local bars, restaurants and castle. Host greeted us with a bottle of champagne and chocolates.

Gorgeous hotel and room with an even more picturesque bathroom. Breakfast was made to order. The hotel is walking distance (about 30 minutes) from Caernarfon Castle and the closest local pub, The Newborough Arms, was enjoyable. Only positive things to say!

We stayed at Meifod House as we were looking for somewhere relatively close to ZipWorld. The hotel owner greeted us upon arrival, she was very pleasant and polite. She was very helpful but very rarely seen.|Our room was a suite with a four-poster bed. The bed was really comfortable and we both slept really well. There was no noise whatsoever from the nearby road. |The room was very well presented and clean. |On further inspection we noticed a few imperfections. The bath was scratched and looked dirty due to this. The shower curtain around the bath was mouldy. The basin was not attached to the wall. |The room had quite basic selection of beverages for a room of such opulence. The tea and coffee provided was below par - just cheap Tetley and a jar of dried coffee granules. |There was a free-standing bath in our room, however you will need to provide your own bubble bath to make full use of that facility. |The window handles were broken or completely missing which considering just how warm this room got, was less than ideal. There was a fan provided which we had no choice to use. The room was described as having robes and a hair dryer, neither of which were provided. |There is a TV in the room, a small fridge and also ironing facilities. There is ample storage space for clothes and belongings if you were staying on a longer basis. |There are two comfortable chairs provided and plenty of mirrors. |We had a nice stay, it was ideal for the nature of our trip but probably wouldn't look to return. We don't believe the room is value for money as a lot of the finishing touches are missing or require some TLC. ||There is a social area in the hotel. We did not make use of this. However should you wish to, there are board games, a library and a bar which you can make full use of as you wish.||We did not have breakfast so are unable to comment. Felt it should be included in the price given the cost of a...

We booked Meifod due to the apparent value/deal and the hope of something different from the regular hotel.||We weren't disappointed ||I'd recommend staying here just to see the incredible building. Up for sale, I would definitely be interested if I had £1.1m sat around!||It was a fantastic venue that was warm, cosy, and had a superbly furnished room. Minutes by car to Caernarfon and £6 taxi ride in on the meter, £8 back verbal agreement. ||Friendly owner/staff, simplistic set up and included an area to drink in front of a real fire in the "honesty" bar. I did spot a webcam or 2 mind and I don't blame them!||The only reason it wasn't a 5-star review? I understand its up for sale, and no one spends money on something they want to sell, but the bathroom was a massive downgrade on the room. Old electric shower lacking pressure and drainage, in need of grouting, which then made me suspicious of the black shower curtain and ceiling choice, and a broken window sealed shut without any fan system to remove air. Then the toilet seat broke. It's not a deal breaker, it's just nowhere near the opulence of the bedroom.||Great venue, great setup,...

OMG this is the first time i have written a review and this is because i am FURIOUS.I stayed at Meifod country house on 16july for work .I arrived around 9 pm after having driven from cornwall. The owner asked if i wanted breakfast and to pay for it now.I placed my bank card on the card machine and it took £15 .Then the owner said it hadnt registerd the transaction so i placed my card on the machine once again .Ihad a drink from the honesty bar and went to bed .After breakfast i went to checkout and pay for last nights drink £3 ,when i was informed by the waitress that none of last nights transactions went through .So i paid once again £18 this time. When i checked my bank i have paid £18 plus £15 plus £15 .I have emailed these people to no avail i have left ananswerphone message they have had plenty of opportunities to put this right ,i can only conclude that this is a regular SCAM .I will not let this go its only £30 but what if they are doing this to everyone? Please dont pay for your breakfast untill you...
