The Newborough Arms — Restaurant in Wales

I came here for food with 3 others and while waiting at the bar patiently to be served my friend ordered her food then went to sit down while waiting me and my sister was at the bar and she served another person who just arrived at the bar after us. She then finally got to my sister to take her order my sister went to sit down. Thinking I was next she ignored me and served another man who just arrived at the bar after me, ignoring me again. Then did it again with another man that just arrived at the bar again totally ignoring me. She was fully aware we were all together and still chose to serve others between and before me. I don’t know if it was because we weren’t speaking Welsh at the bar but two of us are bilingual and other first language Welsh. She seemed to not want to serve us and only regulars first who weren’t even waiting as long. Really disappointed and never coming here again. Food amazing, staff are friendly and very accommodating. My 7 year old son would reccomend the curry night on a Wednesday. The price is excellent for the amazing quality of food... 4 of us ate multiple dishes (12) plus pudding for the kids.. and 3 drinks each (beer for the adults) all for under £100. Kitchen closes at 9 and we arrived at just after 8 so by the time the kids were ready for pudding the kitchen was closed and the chef was already done for the night and relaxing with a beer.. but he still went and happily got the kids their pudding. Pub ( Public House ) an apt name for this place, as a central corridor with smaller rooms, makes gives it a feel of a house. The pub hasn't been messed with or ' modernised ' thank goodness, so it feels like a pub not a dentist. A pub for the locals, many of whom are Welsh speakers. A friendly feeling to the place. Staff very pleasant. Billard table and games machine in place.
